Story and Art: Paul Chadwick

Summary:
The second issue starts with Concrete still wading in the sands, far away from his friends Maureen and Larry. The two decide to call on the help of other people in the park to dispatch a search party to find Concrete. The second half of this issue focuses on Concrete’s point of view through the narrator’s commentary within the dialogue.

Concrete looks to the night sky and to constellations to try to find his way home. Maureen attempts to search for him, using the Big Dipper constellation as a guide, but turns around before they can cross paths. Again, the artwork is beautiful in this issue, and it looks as if Concrete is going to walk further into the wilderness. Each issue ends with an author’s note from Paul himself, and it goes into his experience; in this issue, he talks about how this story is based on short experiences with dissociative amnesia.

The dialogue takes a step forward in this issue as Concrete tries to return to the park. The dialogue itself is descriptive and imaginative. Another solid issue to read, and I would recommend it to readers who are interested in indie stories first.
Overall: 9/10
