A Survival Game About Rebuilding Humanity After the Flood
Helsinki, Finland – November 6th, 2025 – Channel37, a boutique developer based in Finland is excited to announce the launch of science-fiction survival-crafting game The Last Caretaker into Early Access. After four years of development and firmly in the top 50 of Autumn Steam Next Fest demos, The Last Caretaker launches into Early Access on Steam and Epic Games Store. Priced at $34.99 / €29.99 / £26.99, The Last Caretaker will launch with a 10% Discount.
The Last Caretaker’s Early Access period begins today with regular content updates already planned, including new vehicles, essential new items to build, world expansion, lore and story. For those wishing to explore a taste of the world, the demo will remain available on Steam.
Antti Ilvesuo, Co-Founder, Channel37 commented, “We’re delighted to share our vision with players, and are committed to the long-term future for The Last Caretaker.” He continued, “ We wanted to make a world that feels like it could exist; it’s survival that makes sense. Sharing this roadmap now shows our intention, and we’ll deliver all of this and more as we head toward full launch in 2026.”
You play the last caretaker, a reawakened machine in a drowned world, nurturing the final human seeds and sending humans to the stars to begin anew. Offering a rich narrative to discover across a world shaped by humanity’s choices and consequences, you’ll uncover, step by step, the story behind your awakening, the echoes of those who came before, and the answer to the ultimate question; what it truly means to be human.
The Last Caretaker is a thoughtful take on the survival-crafting genre featuring a modular crafting system and resource-based combat with unrivalled depth. Key features include:
Dynamic Resource Management: Your resources are your means of survival. Make choices between crafting weapons for offense or saving your materials for an easy exit from fearsome mechanical foes.
Immersive Worldbuilding: A real, living world. This isn’t decoration, it’s a place that exists. A vast ocean scattered with silent docks, rusting towers, navigation beacons, and forgotten vaults. Every structure has a purpose, every ruin tells a story of what was left behind.
Modular Crafting System: The world is your salvage yard. Dismantle abandoned structures, tear down machinery, and decide what is worth carrying to the recycler to craft weapons, power grids, and tools in a dynamic and deep crafting system.
Save Humanity: The Last Caretaker builds upon four years of hand-crafted systems to deliver a world where every action has purpose. Every success means humanity has one more chance.
The Last Caretaker launches today into Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and is the debut game from Channel37, a boutique developer based in Helsinki, Finland.
