Wish Upon A Star<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Well hello again and welcome back for another So Kawaii subscription box review. Each month I take a look into what has been included in the most recent of Japanese anime subscription boxes from both So Kawaii and Nihon Box. Today's entry is none other than November's edition of So Kawaii, which ran with the theme of \u201cWish Upon A Star\u201d. A theme that included such fan favorite franchises, including Cardcaptor Sakura, Pokemon, Sanrio and Sumikkogurashi. So before we begin looking at what was inside, let\u2019s just do a recap on the company that makes these addictive boxes.<\/span><\/p>\n

For those of you that don\u2019t know \u2013 So Kawaii is a company based in Japan, home of practically everything kawaii (the Japanese word for cute). They create monthly subscription boxes, jam packed with 100% licensed products from brands such as Hello Kitty, Pok\u00e9mon, Sanrio, Studio Ghibli and more. The items range from plushies to Gachapon, little figures, stationary, lifestyle, kitchenware and more. The staff at So Kawaii handpicks 5 to 7 cute & useful items exclusive to Japan, packs them up in a very decorative box and sends it straight to your doorstep each month. So let\u2019s start off with our first item this month, which comes straight from Sanrio with this adorable Little Twin Stars 'cosme case\u2019. Designed in the shape of a star, with images of Kiki & Lala riding on a magical unicorn with their castle floating on a cloud behind them. This decorative storage box is ideal to help declutter your desk or make-up table, whilst also adding a splash or kawaii to the room.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Next up are two items from the San-X brand - Sumikkogurashi. The one on our left is a squishy Ebifurai no Shippo, who is a leftover tail of fried shrimp. This item is incredibly pleasing to just squish in between your hands, I can fully understand now why people have come to be fascinated with items such as this. It also has a rather pleasing scent to it, I am still unsure what exactly it is but I think it\u2019s something like vanilla pudding. This item was one of many characters that were available at random in every box last month, that either came as a squishy bread or a candy pouch.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our second Sumikkogurashi item is this wooden bookmark which was also entirely made in Japan according to the leaflet. With four character duo designs available at random, I was happy to see that Ebifurai no Shippo returned once again but was featured sitting on top of her friend Tonkatsu. Now I adore books and have gathered quite a collection of bookmarks over the years, from ordering online and in stores. However I must say this one is quite adorable, never have I owned a wooden bookmark before.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moving on, we have our Pok\u00e9mon item in this latest Re-Ment \u201cStarrium\u201d Season 2 collection. This series has a total of six designs to collect, of which I received the Pikachu and Eevee duo sitting upon a cloud with a starry night sky behind them. It\u2019s almost a shame that you only get one of the designs in every box, as these Re-Ment figures are so addictive to collect as you will always crave a complete set once you see the various designs. This one in particular has now been added to my now full shelf of other Re-Ment figures from various other series including Pok\u00e9mon, Kirby and San-X.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our largest item this month came in the form of this Kuromi plush from Sanrio. Now you would normally expect to see Kuromi in her iconic black and white colors, even a dark shade of purple would be understandable. However in this month's box, Kuromi has been transformed into this pastel rainbow plush, much like a large TsumTsum. Rather unusual and certainly out of character for the mischievous punk rabbit. However this item is rather unique, as it was made by Sanrio especially for this very box - so you won\u2019t find this anywhere else in the World.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our final item for this rather special So Kawaii box comes from the one and only Cardcaptor Sakura. A franchise that is very close to my own heart, so I am always delighted to see it being included in boxes from time to time. This item however is a tad lacking though, as it is simply two clear zip lock bags. This is a two piece set, which includes a small and medium sized document pocket as I would see it. Now the designs printed on them are adorable as heck, both featuring original images from the Clear Card anime. They can be used to hold your important papers whilst travelling, or maybe even your make up. End of the day, they are just resealable pouch pockets with cute images on the front and back.<\/span><\/p>\n

As you may have guessed from the title above, today I am taking a look into what was included in the September edition of Nihon Box. Which ran with the theme of \u2018Teens Power\u2019, with items from such hit anime shows including Demon Slayer, Bleach, Tokyo Revengers and Kaguya Sama: Love is War. So let\u2019s get the ball rolling with our usual Nihon Box infomercial.<\/span>\n\nNihon Box is a Japanese monthly subscription service that handpicks at least 6 items each month that are almost exclusive to Japan and ships them straight to your door. Their items are a mixture of Otaku Anime related merchandise and figures, as well as traditional Japanese items, from sweets to tableware. All of this is available to subscribe to for what I find a very affordable price each month.<\/span>\n\nLike SoKawaii, the more months you pay upfront the cheaper the price for individual boxes will be.<\/span> https:\/\/www.nihonbox.com\/en<\/a>\n\nMonthly is \u20ac29.99 plus shipping costs<\/span>\n\n3 Months is a single payment of \u20ac86.97, making each box \u20ac28.99, plus shipping costs.<\/span>\n\n6 Months is a single payment of \u20ac170.94, making each box \u20ac28.49, plus shipping costs.<\/span>\n\nDue to the latest European VAT legislation, the overall cost after shipping has increased slightly. The folks behind Nihon Box have done all they can to make this transition as simple as possible, so they have taken the necessary steps & changes in order to include the VAT directly in the subscription\u2019s price. This change will normally be effective starting from the next renewal of your subscription, with the addition of the VAT in the final price (19% for Germany). And from August, as a small gift of appreciation to their overseas customers they will be including a 1000yen gift card to their YattaJapan.com store. As an idea of how much the charge has gone up, prior to August I was paying \u20ac32.89 a month. The new price I pay now is \u20ac40.45 a month, which is a nice increase but I believe the value is still there within the box. Now once it arrived in Ireland, I have been charged customs through An Post. Totalling just under \u20ac9euro on top of the \u20ac40.45 I pay each month, making this a rather expensive box at the moment. The show focused around Ichigo Kurosaki, who became a substitute Soul Reaper in order to save his family. Many of you would be very well versed in the happenings of this show, and rightly so! It is also about to make a comeback in the not too distant future, as they will be adapting the final arc of the manga - the \u2018Thousand Year Blood War\u2019. So in order to help us all cope with the franchise about to reach its final anime conclusion, Nihon Box has included this tissue box cover with Ichigo and Rukia on the front.<\/span>\n\n\n\nNext up is this bamboo fibre cup, featuring the main characters from the latest hit anime - \u2018Tokyo Revengers\u2019. An anime that features the lead character travelling backwards in time in order to save his friends from their untimely deaths and thus change the future for the better. Kind of sounds like Steins: Gate, but with middle school kids and a street gang. I have yet to start this show, but let me know in the comments below if my description was even close to the truth. Anyway this cup could either be used as such or simply as a bit of decoration, you choose. They have even hinted in the leaflet this month that Tokyo Revengers may be making a return in future boxes.<\/span>\n\n\n\nNow we move on to the traditional Japanese item for this month, with a \u2018Tanuki Okiagari-Koboshi\u2019. The Okiagari-Koboshi (\u8d77\u304d\u4e0a\u304c\u308a\u5c0f\u6cd5\u5e2b, getting-up little boy) is a Japanese traditional doll. The toy is made from papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9 and is a roly-poly toy, designed so that its weight causes it to return to an upright position if it is knocked over. This one is made to look like a Tanuki, the same creature you would have seen in Studio Ghibli\u2019s Pom Poko and the anime series \u2018The Eccentric Family\u2019. This item was hand made in Japan and is absolutely adorable.<\/span>\n\n\n\nNext up is our food item, with this packet of \u2018ochazuke\u2019 featuring Tanjiro and Nezuko from Demon Slayer. \u2018Ochazuke is a simple Japanese dish made by pouring green tea, dashi, or hot water over cooked rice. Ochazuke provides a good way to use leftover rice as a quick snack because this dish is easy to make.\u2019 This packet is in collaboration with Demon Slayer with its nori seaweed flavor and one of 18 collectable stickers inside the packet.<\/span>\n\n\n\nNext up is our Himouto! Umaru-chan item, in this incredibly vacuum packed pillow. This item features our main girl Lazy Umaru -chan as a super soft pillow. Made of \u2018mochi-mochi\u2019 material, making her very huggable, so you can just laze around with her and watch some anime. This series is a massive hit with everyone in the Nihon Box office, as they have said themselves that they have been wanting to include this franchise for quite some time.<\/span>\n\n\n\nOur figure for this month comes from the \u2018Kaguya-sama: Love is War\u2019 series, featuring Shinomiya Kaguya herself in her school outfit. This figure is from the Coreful Figure line from Taito, and features Shinomiya in her school uniform while placing a cute flower barrette in her hair! This figure was probably quite popular in the arcade machines in Japan when it was first released, its a good quality figure, sturdy base and has a simple, but elegant pose. Definitely one to buy for fans of the show.<\/span>\n\n\n\nAnd lastly we have the 1000 Yen Yatta Japan gift card, that can be used on their online store. However I must point out that these gift cards all expire at the end of 2021 and you can only use one per order over on their website. Something I only learned recently when placing my very first order. Umaru-chan pencil case. From the popular and short lived 2015 anime, we get this slim pencil case that is entirely decorated in Umaru-chans\u2019 face. Featuring 13 various facial expressions that you are sure to experience throughout an entire school day! Like I mentioned it is fairly slim, so no point expecting to fit in a scientific calculator. Ideal for a couple of pens & pencils, as well as that all important Tipp-Ex pen so you can doodle a few mustaches on your new pencil case.<\/span>\n\n\n\nMoving on, we have a rather handy foldable straw and case from Sanrio. Available in four character designs, including Kuromi, My Melody, Cinnamoroll and Pompompurin. This set comes with two foldable straws, a cleaning brush and a small case that could very easily be mistaken for an airpod case. Now I say this is handy for the simple reason, those that have braces will find this incredibly useful.<\/span>\n\n\n\nOur next item features the wonderful keeper of the Clow Cards - Cardcaptor Sakura. In this mini ring notebook, with a hardcover and star shaped cut out design that showcases Sakura on the front page. Also on each individual page there is a little Kero-chan on the bottom corner. The pages are also dotted on the inside edge, so they can be easily be torn away for cute notes.<\/span>\n\n\n\n\n\nWe return once again to Sanrio, with this My Melody magnet clip. A pretty useful magnet to keep on your fridge, to keep those all important school calendars or class timetables on hand. It has a fairly strong clip on it, as well as a pretty powerful magnet which is a plus.<\/span>\n\n\n\nAnd now we get to our final item for this month, with this Pompompurin Sakura plushie bag. Not only is Sanrio\u2019s favourite Golden Retriever mascot carrying its own sakura flower, but he has also been dyed a soft pink color to match. This bag is so incredibly soft, if you could remove the straps it would make a great plush to just cuddle. However this plush is indeed a bag and a rather spacious one at that. Not only was I able to fit my phone lengthways, I would easily get in a wallet and keys. You could very possibly be able to go out for an entire day and still manage to just use this handbag for your necessities. It does have a rather long strap as well. When extended to its last it does come to just above my hip - and I\u2019m 5ft 2\u201d. As for practicality, I don\u2019t know what way you would style your outfit around this bag. It is incredibly girly and from where I live, it would be seen as incredibly childish to walk around with. Once again this is another item we have been sent that is either only going to get an outing at an anime convention or on the streets of Harajuku if one was lucky enough to go. Personally, I think SoKawaii needs to start rethinking exactly what they should be including in their boxes as I am strongly thinking of ending my subscription in the new year due to the impractical items such as this bag that are regularly featured. But hey, that is just my own personal opinion and taste.<\/span>\n\nSo that is everything that was included in Septembers\u2019 box from SoKawaii. We have a small Pompompurin plush mascot on a keychain that is super soft and squishy. This little dough ball can simply be used as a normal bag charm, decoration or can even be placed in this very secure and dust free pouch - featuring Cinnamoroll. What would look like a normal plastic pouch, similar looking to a drinks holder, but features a Cinnamoroll plush head on top as a lid. The overall design reminds me of a vanilla milkshake, as there is a red & white straw sticking out of Cinnamoroll\u2019s head. The clear plastic pouch makes it ideal as a small fashion accessory, if you want to carry another plush with you inside of it. However this could be aimed more at younger girls, but it only features a keychain attachment. Which if they wanted this to be worn as part of an outfit, it really should have been designed with a shoulder strap in mind. This item in my mind, is more aimed as a decorative item at home, rather than a fashion accessory.<\/span>\n\n\n\nMoving on, we have our Kirby item! Of which we all received a fairly hefty sized tin of peach scented moisturizing cream, featuring our favorite pink skinned, competitive eater! This item was available in four tin designs, all limited edition and taken inspiration from a number of famous places in Japan. The one I received is a very tropical one, as it has the Okinawa design - the Hawaii of Japan.<\/span>\n\n\n\nOur fourth item this month comes from Sanrio once again, but instead we get a mini spray bottle featuring Kiki & Lala from Little Twin Stars. This 30ml reusable spray bottle is perfect for those weekend aways, where you just intend on bringing a small amount of perfume, without any of the worry of thinking \u2018what if the glass bottle breaks in the bag?\u2019. This travel ready bottle is also ideal for other liquids, including toners. Pretty handy to have lying around in the house, as it\u2019s not very often you can just pick one of these up in the shop without being forced to buy a multi pack or set.<\/span>\n\n\n\nMoving on, we have a rather \u2018unusual\u2019 item. One that mightn\u2019t be of much use to everyone, but will certainly be a huge hit with some individuals. Here we have a My Melody pill box, which is in fact two four compartment made medicine boxes which will be ideal to store your daily meds. However it is rather small, and also I do not see the point of it being made into two separate eight compartments, when most pill boxes either cover seven or fourteen days. I assume this might also be ideal for those that have piercings or contact lenses, as it\u2019s simple to pop into your bag and there is nothing to say on it that it is essentially for medicine.<\/span>\n\n\n\nAnd our final item this month comes from My Neighbour Totoro by Studio Ghibli. This award winning film that has captured many generations of viewers, ever since it was first viewed by audiences back in 1988, returns once more to a SoKawaii box with this reusable water bottle. Not only that but it also includes a tea infuser as well just under the lid. An interesting sight and a first for me, as I have never seen this in a simple water bottle design over here in Ireland before. I would assume that this is more for cold tea drinkers, as I doubt this bottle is meant to store hot liquids for long. This design is also the exact same as the one that was included on the My Neighbour Totoro tumbler that wa included in Nihon Boxes June crate this year.<\/span>\n\n\n\nSo that is everything that was included in Augusts\u2019 box from SoKawaii. Hello everyone, and welcome back to another ComicBuzz review! In todays\u2019 post I took a look into what was included in SoKawaii\u2019s June Box. The theme they ran with this time is \u201cDreamy Creatures\u201d, which features six products from a number of licenses. Including Studio Ghibli, Sanrio, Pok\u00e9mon and Kirby. So let\u2019s get started on our usual description of what SoKawaii is and what they have to offer you!<\/span><\/p>\n

For those of you that don\u2019t know \u2013 SoKawaii is a company based in Japan, home of practically everything kawaii (the Japanese word for cute). So our first item this month is surely worth the price of the box alone, and that is the official Totoro plush from My Neighbour Totoro. Studio Ghibli merch is not cheap folks, especially on this side of the World. I have seen this exact plush go for \u00a345 in HMV - and it\u2019s not a massive plush by any regards! So for me, everything else in this box I may have just gotten for free cause this plush was definitely the cream of the crop. It\u2019s super fluffy, plump, stands freely on its own and is an official merch. Although it doesn\u2019t have its toothy, almost creepy looking grin - it is still adorable as heck and perfect to be put on display alongside your Studio Ghibli film collection.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moving on we head on over to the world of Pok\u00e9mon, with this highly adorable Pikachu masking tape. This item was available in four designs, all from the Pokemon Sepia Graffiti collection. Looking into it now, this is a fairly old release, as it first came out back in 2016. However the designs are still just as adorable all the same, I wouldn\u2019t say no to another item from this collection being added again in a future box.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are now onto our second Pok\u00e9mon item, with this very large Face Towel. With two designs available at random in every box, one of which will feature both Pikachu and Eevee enjoying a relaxing nap. This super soft towel is quite large and is more of a hand towel in my eyes, than a face towel. It looks like 8 times the size of a face cloth and the picture I took of it above is with the towel folded over 3 times!<\/span><\/p>\n

We are now back to stationary with this next item, featuring Kirby. June\u2019s box saw everyone getting a set of two limited edition KIrby clear file folders, which were available in four regional designs. Including Tokyo, Osaka, Okinawa and Fujisan, with Kirby posing at each location. Now this is another older collection, as this was originally released last April. However it is quite adorable, but what does everyone do with their clear files? Do you display them, and if so how? Our final two items are both from Sanrio, the largest of which is the My Melody circular floor mat in the picture above. Which is just one of three designs that was available at random in every box, the other two included Cinnamoroll and Hello Kitty. This mat is 50x50cm, probably amongst the smallest you can find and would be perfect to have at your computer desk. Better yet it has numerous anti slip bumps underneath, so it shouldn't go sliding about the place when you walk on it. The upside has a printed design of one of the three characters included, with the name in pastel print and a quote about the character underneath. This item was released in 2020, going by the trademark on the mat. It\u2019s nice and soft, but I could easily see this getting stained very quickly and I\u2019m unsure how machine washable it is. So best be careful with this one.<\/span><\/p>\n

And our final item is a small Hello Kitty storage box. This clip-closed box would easily work as a small lunch box, for storing your washi\/masking tape, for hair ties or even your medication as long as you don\u2019t have small kids in the house that will be quickly drawn to such a cute box as this one. It also looks like a classic vintage Hello Kitty design, one that is sure to last the ages.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hello everyone, I am back once again with another SoKawaii box to review. This time I have May\u2019s box, which focuses on Spring Time. With a number of items dedicated to making your homelife that bit more kawaii, with merch from Sanrio, Studio Ghibli and San-X. So our first item this month is one I have longed to own - a Kuromi plush! This adorable plush mascot comes in her very own maid outfit, all set for the big Spring Clean. With an outfit that would fit right in with any maid caf\u00e9 in Japan, Kuromi has a matching headband and bows as well. This officially licensed mascot comes straight from Sanrio, however she won\u2019t be in every May box as there is also a My Melody version that could also be included. This was obviously the best item from the box this month for me!<\/span><\/p>\n

Moving on to our second Sanrio item, which is a magnetic hook featuring a number of Sanrio\u2019s most iconic characters. There were two designs available for this product, as it is unusual to find a magnetic hook as it leaves very few places to actually use it. Mine ended up being attached to the side of my cooker, so I can hang up my oven glove. It really makes you think, how many places have you in your home that you can actually attach a magne.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next up is our kitchenware items for this month, which include a bowl and chopsticks. The bowl is actually made from bamboo fiber, which makes it more eco friendly than plastic and is also food safe. It even includes a fun looking Sumikkogurashi design on the inside, which will make a lovely little surprise for when you are done eating your food. Now I wouldn\u2019t suggest putting this in a dishwasher, as it could either ruin the design or it mightn\u2019t be suitable for high temperatures. Best keep with the old fashion way and wash it by hand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Accompanying this bowl is two sets of chopsticks, featuring everyone's favourite My Neighbor Totoro from Studio Ghibli. These 21cm chopsticks (which I don\u2019t really know they came in different sizes), are decorated at the top by the lovable character. Perfect for sharing a meal, or having as a back up.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our final item this month comes once again from San-X with this super soft Rilakkuma pillow. This pillow is in fact more of a cushion, going by the size and shape. It\u2019s quite soft, but not very \u2018plump\u2019 as though it could have done with some more stuffing for a more firm cushion. However if it was, it may not have fitted inside the box! This cushion of course has two \u2018faces\u2019 to it, with Rilakkumas\u2019 face taking up the entirety of one side with flowers printed on the corners. The opposite side is more sparse, with a beautiful background filled with sakura petals and flowers. With Rilakkuma enjoying a Dango and Korilakkuma sitting beside him in the corner. We also have the little chick Kiiroitori sitting on top of a flower in the top corner. It really does make for a lovely throw pillow, but practicality not so much as there are so many warnings on the label that this cushion can never be machine washed. So once again, make sure and wash this one by hand if you need to.<\/span><\/p>\n

My missing Nihon Box from February finally arrived, just days after my January box decided to make an appearance. Looks like I\u2019m finally caught up now on all my MIA boxes, so reviews should be in perfect order from now on. Anyway, Februarys\u2019 box was a pretty important one as it was celebrating Nihon Boxes 6th anniversary! And what a milestone it is, as they have not only survived a fairly niche market but also a worldwide pandemic! Super proud of them and it makes it even more special being a customer.<\/span><\/p>\n

So let\u2019s get onto the usual tidbits about this service. Nihon Box is a Japanese monthly subscription service that handpicks at least 6 items each month that are almost exclusive to Japan and ships them straight to your door. Their items are a mixture of Otaku Anime related merchandise and figures, as well as traditional Japanese items, from sweets to tableware. All of this is available to subscribe to for what I find a very affordable price each month.<\/span><\/p>\n

Onto our first item this month, we have a very pretty looking origami set from the Studio Ghibli movie \u2018Spirited Away\u2019. This product is not only made in Japan, but the art of paper folding just screams Japanese culture. The first recorded mention of the artform comes from a reference to a paper model in a short poem by Ihara Saikaku in 1680. This particular set includes traditional origami paper and sets where you can construct various characters from the movie. Great for display purposes and even comes so well packaged, that it would also make a lovely gift.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our second item is for all you snack lovers, as February's box included a rather large bag of Fugashi. The packaging for this one reminds me of a cow-print, so its rather confusing in its advertising. It\u2019s actually a rather old snack that dates back about 150 years. It\u2019s a wheat flour based bar that is just covered in brown sugar. Just plain and simple really, there seems to be a number of Japanese snacks like this. Either Way, seeing as the shipping took so long, this item was about a month out of date by the time I got it. So perhaps it will be included again in a future box.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our third item is one I don\u2019t really don\u2019t know what to do with yet. As it\u2019s this beautiful blue sakura patterned plate. Its quite unique, as I don\u2019t know if you can really tell from the picture, but it has an almost water droplet effect on the plate. As though the raindrops had frozen in the moment, to create this unique texture and pattern on the surface. It\u2019s one I never plan on using, as it has to be for decorative purposes in my eyes. This item is also made in Japan, and includes a signature on the back of the plate, so you know it was handcrafted. I just wished the pamphlet included some information on who created this piece.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are now back to the anime merch, as we have a familiar bull dog clip plush and a figure. The plush clip is from the latest fan favorite show from Shonen Jump - Jujutsu Kaisen. We have gotten similar bull clips in the past from both SoKawaii and Nihon Box, when they included the Demon Slayer range. These are strong clips, unique in that its also a miniature plush but is also kind of awkward when you try to figure out how best to either use it or display the item. This particular one was available in six designs, of which I seem to have pulled the main character Yuji Itadori. On the right is our largest item in the box, and that is a Noodle Stopper figure of Hiei from Y\u00fa Y\u00fa Hakusho. Now these figures are usually in more relaxed poses, mostly with characters sitting down as they are created in such a way that they balance on top of your \u2018pot noodle\u2019 or \u2018cup ramen\u2019 as its \u2018cooking\u2019 away. Its a fairly well detailed figure, unfortunately I don\u2019t really know much about the show other than it came out in the early 90\u2019s and is almost as old as myself. Always nice getting figures in a box, although this one might be a bit too niche going by how old the show is.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are now onto our final item of the month, which brings us back to a far more recent anime hit - Demon Slayer. This time we got a decorative lamp that had several characters labeled around the side, including Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke. With the off\/on switch positioned underneath the lamp, you will also need 3 AA batteries to power it. It gives off a fairly decent amount of light, and also projects the Kimetsu no Yaiba logo from the top onto your ceiling. The bulb also changes color slightly from time to time, so its still a rather decent lamp. More for display purposes than practicality though I say.<\/span><\/p>\n

There was one last piece in this box, and it was a special note from the folks over at Nihon Box. A lovely printed, decorative card with some touching words on how they have survived this long to make it to their sixth year in business. It\u2019s really worth reading, so please take a moment to. They have also mentioned that they have several surprises coming out this year, and most certainly one of those is their new venture - Yatta Japan (<\/span>https:\/\/www.yattajapan.com\/en<\/a>) Where you can buy many of the items that were included in previous boxes, as well as new figures, snacks, manga and more. All on the one website. Worth checking out, as they also have their own rewards scheme for every time you buy from them.<\/span><\/p>\n

So there we have it folks, that was another Nihon Box - although it was fairly late in arriving. Nihon Box always does their best to follow the latest anime trends as well as finding items from fan favorite shows in order to always appeal to their customer base. With items from classic shows such as Spirited Away and Y\u00fa Y\u00fa Hakusho, to the newer franchises including Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen. They not only source out some decent quality figures and plushies, but also to make sure that each month their box represents another unique aspect of Japan \u2013 from its food, to its culture, art, history and beliefs. It\u2019s a well rounded box, for both anime fans and cultural fans. This box\u2019s theme was \u201cDark Birthday\u201d, and each pamphlet in every box also includes a detailed section called \u201cDiscover Japan\u201d. This month\u2019s topic was about Setsubun - the demon hunting day and why it is celebrated in Japan. It\u2019s details such as these that make this subscription box so unique and talked about.<\/span><\/p>\n

This mochi plush is perfect for those day time naps that we all dream about post lunch. It\u2019s pillow-like design features the iconic white character, with a light pink blush across its cheeks, sakura petals printed on its floppy ears and a sakura flower adorned on its head. It\u2019s very well detailed and is also an exclusive item, as this plush is a limited run 2021 design from Sanrio. Better yet we have four items from this Sakura Sanrio collection in this very box.<\/span>\n\n\n\nThe next item is also from the same collection and is a mini memo pad. Following the same character design as the Cinnamoroll plush, each page is ruled and has the same image on the front of the memo pad on the top of each page. This item is available in 8 different Sanrio character designs, of which I received Cinnamoroll.<\/span>\n\n\n\nOur third item from the Sakura collection is this Character pen, pictured on the left in the picture above. Now it is always handy to have an extra pen in the house and on you at all times, especially one as cute as this. This pen has a decent grip and weight to it, so it will be good for all that general paperwork you have to do. This item was available in three designs, all of which had Sanrio characters in the same traditional clothing designs as the memo pad.<\/span>\n\nOur next item is the Hello Kitty - Flower Body Spray, pictured on the right in the photo above. It\u2019s in a handy travel size bottle, so you can put it in your handbag if you're on the go. It follows the same Sakura theme and has a cute packaging design. I am actually amazed it never leaked or broke during shipping. The scent might be a bit too strong for some, as I find just one spritz goes a long way. Can be used by adults, but would also make a nice gift for younger girls that are a bit too young for perfume yet.<\/span>\n\n\n\nNow a pair of fluffy socks is always a welcome sight in any box, especially if they are character themed. This pair is once again from Sanrio, and is available in three character designs including My Melody, Hello Kitty and Pompompurin, but with four designs available. So it will be a real pick and mix in regards to what designs everyone will get. It\u2019s made from stretchy material, super fluffy and for me, they fit a UK size 4 comfortably. They are more fluffy ankle socks, will stretch to a UK size 5 to 7 but don\u2019t think there will be anymore room after that.<\/span>\n\n\n\nWe are now onto our sixth and final Sanrio item from this month\u2019s box - in this gorgeous Sakura Tote bag! This dual handled tote bag comes with two zippers on top with a rather sizable pocket on the inside. Would be ideal perhaps as a handbag, would easily carry a lunch or maybe even for a beach trip. This adorable bag is covered all around by a floral print, with several Sanrio characters printed across it including Keroppi, Little Twin Stars and Pompompurin. This bag was guaranteed in every April box.<\/span>\n\n\n\nWe are now onto our final item for this April's box and it comes from Pok\u00e9mon, with Volume 5 of their Pokemofu mini doll series. This item is very similar to the Sylvanian Families, where we have a small figure that is covered in a light fur, giving it a fuzzy appearance. This series has been running since 2018 and is being made by Bandai, each figure also comes with a small piece of gum - which allows them to be sold in convenience stores near the sweets. With the Pompompurin Foaming Soap Dispenser, which is perfect for the bags of refillable liquid soap you can purchase in Lidl. Now as to how it creates the foam, I\u2019m unsure. As I haven\u2019t used this dispenser enough yet to see it fully working. Now Pompompurin is the only version available, which mightn\u2019t be to everyone's taste. I myself would have much preferred a Kuromi one! It\u2019s a plastic bottle at the end of the day, so it will last for quite some time, but it does look like something that would be bought rather cheaply.<\/span>\n\n\n\nOur second item this month is a small cat plush. Much similar to the ones we have gotten in the past, when we received the Tanuki & Kitsune plush range in last August\u2019 box. This very cute, fluffy and almost TsumTsum like sized plush is from the \u201cFunwari Korokoro Nayanko Neko '' plush range. Now I love these small plushies, so easy to stack and display in small spaces. I now have a small pyramid of these small plushies, so its very satisfying to look at them. The most adorable detail to these plushies, is that they all have a small black butthole sewn onto them! It\u2019s both hilarious and cute! There are six different cats available in this collection, with one supplied at random in every box this month.<\/span>\n\nUp next is our San-X item, which is a \u201cRilakkuma Friends Blind Box Figure\u201d, which has 6 different characters available. Now these items are rather large and are made of a hard plastic material that reminds me a lot of those bath toy figures you may have had as a child, that used to squirt water out of their months. Now they are hollow inside, but the detail is quite good and has a decent paint job. They are also fully licensed figures, as they are made by Bandai.<\/span>\n\n\n\nThe next item we have this month is a rather unusual one. As we have a \u201cMy Melody Adhesive Mirror set\u201d, which are basically reflective stickers that you can attach to the back of your phone, notebooks etc. Advertised as a \u2018handy mirror\u2019, for those quick touch ups. Now I don\u2019t see why they are saying that you can place it on the back of your phone, when in fact practically all mobile phones these days have a front and rear facing camera - making this item absolutely pointless. Unless you are a young girl that hasn\u2019t come of age yet to have the responsibility of a phone. Either way, this item is definitely aimed at a much younger generation compared to the people that actually subscribe to this box. It\u2019s more of a cheap filler item in my opinion.<\/span>\n\n\n\nNext up is our PreCure item! From the show \u201cHealin' Good♥Pretty Cure\u201d, comes this high quality melamine spoon. A rather large one at that, which is perfect to eat all of those deserts with. It\u2019s also a good rice spoon as well. It\u2019s also perfect for just displaying. With three designs available at random in March\u2019s box.<\/span>\n\n\n\nNow onto our final item this month, the one that has certainly made the box well worth the subscription cost! Each box for March received one of the five designs of the recently released Sailor Moon Q posket figures. Which featured Sailor Moon, Chibi Moon, Mars, Jupiter and Venus. Sailor Moon is all the rage at the moment due to the recent release of the Sailor Moon Eternal movies, which this collection is named after. Q Poskets are \u2018unusual\u2019 looking figures, made to bring attention to the eyes and large scale heads attached to the figures, mostly known as the chibi figure range. Which have been made by Banpresto. This adorable cream Korilakkuma shoulder bag is super soft, has a rather large inside pocket that will at least fit your phone and purse, as well as actually being a quick pillow if need be. I would have preferred a Rilakkuma bag instead, as this version is sure to get marks on it very quickly if using it out & about. However it is perfect for those that enjoy dressing up as lolithas\u2019 for conventions and such, otherwise it will be nice to display it at home. The only issue is that we have already gotten plenty of bags in various sizes in the last number of months, and it\u2019s becoming a bit repetitive. I for one, which there was an option given to subscribers who may want to option out a bag for a plush or ReMent figure as an alternative.<\/span>\n\n\n\n\n\nOur Second item is from Pok\u00e9mon, with this blush pink Pikachu hair brush from the \u201cGirly Collection\u201d. Now I have REALLY long hair, so I need a good hairbrush to tackle it every day. Now I haven\u2019t started using it yet, but this cute design is well worth adding into my routine. It\u2019s pretty sturdy and is actually much larger than what I was expecting, this could easily have been in and around 12 to 15euro if you were to buy that in the Pok\u00e9mon store I say. It also never hurts to have a second hairbrush around!<\/span>\n\n\n\n\n\nMoving on to our third item, we have a pair of Hello Kitty hair ties. Now these remind me of the bobble hair ties I used to have as a kid, that if you were unlucky, they would whack you in the head when you were putting them on. They felt like you got hit with a rock, and they didn't just hit you once! Although they were adorable, they were a b**** to get on! Also kind of wondering, what age demographic is SoKawaii aiming for really? As I imagine most of the subscribers have to be between 16 and 30, and even then I doubt many of them will be wearing their hair in pigtails with these hair ties. They are cute all the same, but are definitely aimed at little girls.<\/span>\n\nOur fourth item is a Sumikko Gurashi headband. Made of towel like material, this is actually going to be pretty handy for people that are doing their skin care routine and wish to keep their bangs off of their face. I imagine it would also be handy to have on right after you have a shower too. This item was available in two designs: Shirokuma or Neko.<\/span>\n\n\n\nOur fifth and final item for this box, is a Gudetama Cookie Mould. This is probably the closest we are going to get this month to an actual Valentines day gift. This baking mould is a two pack cookie cutter featuring the laziest egg mascot of all time - Gudetama.
