Haley and Max arrive on the footsteps of Wayfair Academy, a boarding school for teens with special needs. Life has been harsh for them thus far, especially after the passing of their mother. With no real family left to care for them, they have done all they can to stay together. Haley has been deaf since birth and Max has more or less turned into her bodyguard. Over a short period of time at the school, they begin to find a new family amongst the friends they have made. However after one such night when they decide to break into a teachers office in order to get their confiscated phone back, they begin to develop a taste for crime. The group begin planning their next heist when the future of one of their friends' education lies in the balance. They soon find out though they have stolen from the wrong person, as their ‘hobby’ now becomes the leverage this man needs to blackmail them into doing his dirty work. The plot develops even more, when the teens devise a plan to be rid of this criminal forever.

"pantomime_1"

Pantomime was a six issue series that debuted from Mad Cave just last November, and has now been compiled in this single tradeback volume. The series follows a group of deaf teens as they go about pulling off some impressive robberies, confident in their skills and the fact that they would be the least suspected individuals based on their disabilities. For a while there, they were pulling off the perfect crimes. Some of the ideas were immense and almost insane, yet they still managed to pull them off. The taste for the world of crime had soon become an addiction. They used whatever they stole to benefit their futures, because going by the family they had around them - they well and truly needed the help. Each member of this teenage cartel had their own unique skill set, from cracking safes to lock picking, others were even security hackers. However it only takes one bad egg amongst them to jeopardize the entire operation - and its always who you least expect.

Pantomime was created by Christopher Sebela, an American author and journalist that has a very lengthy CV and career to date. His work has been published by many comic giants in the industry, including Image Comics, DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, IDW and more. He has written many issues for established comic series, including Harley Quinn, Ghostrider, Hellraiser and more yet again. As well as writing his own pieces of work, including the Dumbstronaut series, he is also the co-founder of the indie collective publishing imprint - Two Headed Press. Alongside this very creative story, are the illustrations of David Stoll. A freelance comic artist from Arizona, USA, whose work can be sampled over on his website here - http://stollcomics.com/ Although there isn’t much information I could find on other published works he has contributed to, I am sure he has a line of interested people just filling up his inbox with the next job offer going by the success alone of Pantomime.

"pantomime_2"

This was such a thrilling series, that I am actually disappointed that it has come to its end, but it was done with elegance. It could be explored more, but they have certainly tied it off in a way that fans would still be satisfied with leaving the story there. You can currently buy each one of the 6 issue Pantomime series separately, or you can purchase the collected volume which will be available in print and digital through the link below. Also as always, do your best to buy from your local comic book store.

Clan O’Conall and the Crown of the Stag is an indie action platformer from HitGrab Inc. The game is in the finalists of the Nordic Discovery contest. As the title of the name game suggests, it's based on Celtic mythology and uses it for the setting of the game.

The game is presented using a classical art-style animation, it does remind of some Disney animation. It is reminiscent of many side-scrolling platforms in terms of visuals. It's a genre that has found a footing in indie games after being a mainstay on 8 and 16-bit consoles.

"clanoconall1"

Clan O'Conall makes great use of Celtic mythology which helps set the scene for the entire game. If you have played any old-school platformers or indie platformers, the mechanics and gameplay are familiar. Levels consist of worlds where you have to navigate platform sections, puzzles whilst switching through the three playable characters. Each character has skills and attributes to navigate different aspects of levels. The player has to use their skills to solve and progress through levels towards the bosses. There is a satisfying feeling to progressing through each level and a sense of accomplishment. The game is enjoyable as it mixes action and puzzles seamlessly throughout. It has the joyous feel of playing a well-crafted platform action game.

Controls are super simple and responsive, you feel in total control and the learning curve is low. The game is forgiving in terms of navigating the platforming sections.

"clanoconall2"

The graphics whilst simple are polished and bring the game to life, it's simply clean and suits the game to a tee. Each environment has its look and feels with different creatures to battle as well.

Each of the three characters has a levelling up system where you can build the character into whichever playstyle suits you. The character levelling is straightforward and isn't in-depth as an RPG.

"clanoconall3"

Clan O’Conall and the Crown of the Stag delivers a fantastic vibrant action platformer that looks great. The gameplay is solid and is easy to pick up and get stuck into. Celtic mythology helps to give a backdrop to each level and ties the story. During the game, players will have to swap between three characters to navigate enjoyable levels. Each level has a great mix of platforming, action and puzzle gameplay. It's a fantastic fun platformer that I loved playing.

Famous around the world for his creation of a Vampire Lord, but where did this inspiration for the tale hail from? Well in the village of Six Mile Hill, a quiet countryside town somewhere in Northern Ireland. They believe the character was inspired by a local legend, known as the Abhartach. An evil creature known for draining people's blood dry, whose grave lies in the middle of a field, marked by a mound of stones.

The truth of the legend is about to be tested, when tragedy strikes the small village. Against the residents wishes, a new bypass is to be built in the same field the gravesite is located. The first task is to destroy the Abhartachs gravesite - but are they willing to deal with the undead that rise against them?

"boysfromcountyhell1"

‘The Boys from County Hell’ was such a surprising watch. Although at times it appeared quite cheesy, it was also very relatable in how the characters reacted to each of the horrific situations. Perhaps it’s because I share the same kinship as the characters, as we all live on the same land although we are from either ends of the border. I feel that Irish viewers would get the best kick out of this movie, as I can’t say how well it would be received by other nationalities. Would a British or American viewer get the same joke? Would they share the same humor as the characters? Do they know how culturally normal it is to go across fields home at night from the pub with a bag of cans in hand? Or even how ‘normal’ it was for fathers and sons to have a very bravado relationship. How many young people from nearly every village in Ireland once left their homes to travel abroad for work - from Australia to England, even the USA. This film certainly speaks to a generation and I’m not afraid to say that it is in fact my own.

So we begin with the trio of friends - Eugene, William and Claire. All of which are in their early twenties I would imagine, trying to get by in a small rural village. After a short fight on the way home between the two lads, a gruesome death happens to one of them. As the town mourns the loss of one of their young men, the family and friends are distraught. It isn’t long after that the construction work for the new bypass has to begin in the same field that the Abhartach’s grave is located. Aside from the three amigos, we are introduced to their wider family. From their parents, to the local drunkard, the Undertaker and the all important Barman! Above all we can never forget the very charismatic grizzly of a man - SP McCauley. Truly the best mate and drinking buddy an Irish man would ever need!

So the comedy certainly comes from the characters and their reactions, to the intense violent attacks that continue to put their lives in danger. The horror lies in the details, how blood just pours from peoples eyes, out of houses and onto the streets. Its nightmarish how it all occurs. Not to forget the 'locals' that become 'infected’ turn into feral creatures that just attack our construction crew. If we suddenly discovered that creatures like the undead existed, this film would be deemed so realistic it would be classed as a documentary into the events that took place in Six Mile Hill.

"boysfromcountyhell4"

This isn’t the first venduring for The Boys From County Hell, as it was originally a short film of the same name back in 2013. Director Chris Baugh and producer Brendan Mullin successfully crowdfunded a campaign for the 17minute short film that had a very similar story. Since then they have rewrote the script, got backing for a full length film and recast the majority of the roles, wth just Nigel O’Neill from the original short returning for the role of Eugene's father.

This ‘Boys From County Hell’ film had a fantastic cast, including Jack Rowan (Peaky Blinders, Noughts + Crosses), Louisa Harland (Derry Girls), Nigel O’Neill (The Clandestine), and John Lynch (The Banishing, Isolation). The film was also recently played at this year’s Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival.

So not only did this film cover some comedic moments, some savage fight scenes, gore, missing limbs and Daddy issues. It was also good craic to watch. I know it’s cheesy at times, but sometimes that's all you need in a film. ‘Boys From County Hell’ could very well be the Irish version of ‘Shaun of the Dead’ in my books!

Overall: 8/10

Review by Vixen Ninetails

"boysfromcountyhell2"

In the sleepy Irish town of ‘Six Mile Hill’, famously claimed by locals to have once been visited by the Irish author Bram Stoker himself, lives Eugene Moffat, a young man who mostly spends his days drinking pints with his friends or out of boredom, pranking tourists who come by to visit the gravesite of the ancient Irish vampire ‘Abharlach’, who is believed to be what inspred Bram Stoker’s Dracula. But due to a personal tragedy, Eugene is forced to work with his no nonsense father, as part of his father’s crew of road workers. All hell begins to break lose, when Eugene and the crew tears down a cairn, that is famously believed to be ‘Abharlach’s’ final resting place, which causes Eugene alongside his father and the rest of his father’s crew to soon realise, that they have now accidently awakened the ancient Irish vampire ‘Abharlach’. This suddenly becomes apparent, when they find one of their crewmates having been infected, so in order to survive the night, they must be forced to fight for their lives and for those living in their small Irish town.

‘’Boys from County Hell’’ (2021) is a horror comedy vampire film, that is set in Ireland, within the small Irish town of ‘’Six Mile Hill’. Easing the tension caused by the intense gore filled start to the film, we are shown the beautifully peaceful landscapes of Ireland. The film soon introduces our main protagonist Eugene Moffat (portrayed by English actor Jack Rowan from Peaky Blinders), a young man who mostly spends his time with his friends in ‘’The Stoker’’, a local pub named after the Irish author Bram Stoker, who was rumoured to have once visited their local town. Eugene alongside his best friend William decides to con a tourist couple, who entered the pub, by offering to give them a tour to see the gravesite of a local myth by the name of ‘Abharlach’, an ancient Irish vampire, who was according to Eugene to be what inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula. When tragedy strikes, Eugene is forced to work with his critically distant father, as part of his father’s crew of road workers. The film gives a mixture of horror, comedy and even drama elements, as it deals with serious topics such as coping with loss. The film starts to become action packed with some hilarious witty dialogue throughout, when Eugene and the crew tear down a cairn that is believed to be ‘Abharlach’ final resting place causing evil to break free. As one of their crewmates becomes infected, they with some hesitation at first on whether they are dealing with a vampire or a man high on drugs, soon will come to realise, that they must together fight off the evil and uncover how to end what they believe they accidently caused before it gets too late.

The film first introduces the main protagonist Eugene Moffat (Jack Rowan) as a somewhat of an unlikeable character at first, due to him and his friend William Bogue coning a tourist couple of their money, by offering to give them a tour to see the gravesite of the ancient Irish vampire ‘Abharlach’, which ended with them scaring the tourists for a laugh. Eugene is also shown at first to be quite hypocritical in his opinion, when he talks about his distaste for Bram Stoker’s Dracula without even having read it. The film soon makes you sympathise with Eugene’s character, making him more likable, especially as the movie goes on, we learn more about his life, such as a personal tragedy he had experienced and the distant relationship he has with his father, while also being blamed for things he had no control over and when he is forced to step up and fight, he becomes a leader and therefore someone to root for. The character of Eugene’s father, Francie Moffat (Nigel O’ Neill) comes across as a man who doesn’t share his feelings, which has caused a strain in his relationship with his son, as he finds it difficult to show his softer side, as he can’t even hug his own son, so instead he criticises his son’s every move. The title of this film may also fool you, as the character of Claire McCann (portrayed by Irish actress Louisa Harland from Derry Girls) steals the show with her quick wit, as she is able to think on her feet and is a great ally to the rest of the crew. The comedic relieve is mostly delivered by the character of SP McCauley (Michael Hough), as through witty dialogue and his hilarious responses to what is going on around him, his character will give the audience a lot of chuckles in between the more serious moments.

"boysfromcountyhell3"

I truly enjoyed this film, from its strangely intense gore filled opening to its hilarious witty Irish humour, that is delivered by a wonderful cast, whose relationships within the film feel real and aren’t forced, making the film feel more realistic in tone. I loved that the film made the development of the characters have a realistic progression, especially with the relationship between Eugene and his father, as the movie doesn’t have the usual movie trope of having a relationship fully change overnight, so this choice made the film have a sense of realism. The practical makeup affects looked frightening on both those who were infected and the ancient Irish vampire ‘Abharlach’. The film also showed quite well how strong those affected and ‘Abharlach’ himself were, from their quick attacks to hearing a loud thump when ‘Abharlach’ hits the ground, making him seem so strong, that it will be more of a challenge to defeat him. The film beautifully sets up its Irish tone, through showing the idyllic landscape of Ireland and through its wonderful mostly Irish soundtrack that includes songs such as ‘Joyce County Celi Band’, performed by the Irish rock band the Saw Doctors. While not only having Irish songs, the film surprisingly thrown in ‘’Dream Warriors written by Dokken, which is mainly known for being associated with Nightmare on Elm Street 3. The film was ultimately entertaining with a few twists and witty dialogue throughout, that was hilarious to watch, but at times I did feel that the more serious moments were pulled back with some of its witty dialogue, taking over those scenes. I was very impressed with the design of ‘Abharlach’, but with that I wanted to see more of him, which is both a negative aspect, while also being a positive aspect, as the film makes you stay in the moment, that you just don’t want it to end too quickly.

I highly recommend watching ‘Boys from County Hell’ (2021), as I guarantee you will be kept engaged to the screen from start to finish, from its bloody intense gory action with witty comedic dialogue written throughout, that will ease the tension, that the drama aspect provides. This film is differently a unique take on the vampire genre, that will suck you back in, as this film shows that the vampire genre is not dead, as it can be taken surprisingly in new directions.

‘Boys from County Hell’ is ‘’a surprisingly unique gore filled witty twist on the vampire genre’’, that is directed by Chris Baugh, who directed 2017’s Northern Irish Crime Thriller ‘Bad day for the cut’.

Special thanks to Vertigo Releasing, who has announced that ‘Boys from County Hell’ will be getting a theatrical release on the 6th of August 2021 in UK and Irish Cinemas.

Overall: 8/10

The year is 1916 and Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) is an eccentric but talented and driven scientist/ explorer. For many many years, there has been talk of a legend, which speaks of a mysterious flower called ‘The Tears of the Moon’ which only blooms on The Tree of Life. She and her younger brother, MacGregor (Jack Whitehall) journey to Porto Velho in Brazil to begin their search.

They come across a boat captain named Frank Wolff (Dwayne Johnson) who agrees to help them with their quest, but only for the right price...

Their search begins but it is not long before they realise that there are other very dangerous people looking for the flower too.. Who will get there first and at what cost?

The movie is based on a ride at the Disneyland theme park and also on the iconic 1951 movie ‘The African Queen’ which starred Hollywood legends, Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn.

"junglecruise1"

This movie has everything you could possibly wish for when looking for an action adventure film, including lots of punch ups, a treasure hunt and an amazing array of baddies. People are already saying that it’s a cross between Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean, which by anyone’s standards can only be a good thing. With a fantastic cast, including the always amazing Emily Blunt, the chemistry between her and Dwayne Johnson is great and feels totally believable. There’s twists and turns, chases and calamity, and it really feels like you’re on a theme park ride.

This has to be my movie of the year so far and ticks all the right boxes; great story, interesting characters, more action than you can shake a stick at and some amazing twists and surprises. Plus some great appearances by Andy Nyman (Ghost Stories), Paul Giamatti (Billions, Sideways) and Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad/ The Irishman).

A great movie to go to with your family or even just with your mates, this film is going to do great things in the box office over the Summer. Just make sure you see it on a big screen if you possibly can, and fasten your seatbelt! :)

Rena is a young pre-teen girl who suffers from social anxiety, which has made her daily school life quite difficult to handle. As an outcast within her class, her robotics engineer mother has been enrolling Rena in counselling sessions for a while now. None of which seemed to have made any difference for the girl, until one day it’s suggested she joins the local Ninja Club in order to socialize more. From here the story of Rena the Ninja begins, can she conquer her fears and become the Ninja of legend known as ‘The Ghost’?!

This is a great read for children and adults alike, as there is a bit of something for everyone to enjoy. Social anxiety is no joke and has become more apparent in the last year alone, with people experiencing some form of anxiety due to the current pandemic, with its social restrictions and lockdowns. So this book is the perfect medium to help those that may need to connect with a character that is going through somewhat similar difficulties, with a splash of ninja fun.

"shyninja1"

Now it’s not all fun and games, although Rena soon gets the hang of some classic ninja skills. Her instructor, the mysterious Dysart, has other plans. Having brought to her attention the legend of ‘The Ghost’, he convinces Rena that she is the one. This inturn did encourage the girl to battle her fears, but he also deceived her. It’s a very good plot twist, one that had some good action involved and some very clever deception. So what is Renas’ ultimate goal here? Apart from becoming the ninja of legend that is. She also wants to overcome her anxiety, be just a normal kid at school again and ultimately, be able to visit her best friend Sidney in person. Who has his own set of problems!

"shyninja2"

Now this story is a collaboration between real life father and daughter duo; Adara and Ricardo Sanchez. Within just the opening pages of this book, Ricardo included a very detailed foreword as to how this story was created. Which is quite touching to read before we get into the ninja action. The illustrations were handled by Arianna Florean, a comic book artist, illustrator and colorist. Who is currently working on a number of projects for Disney America, Marvel and IDW Publishing. The artwork in Shy Ninja has been pretty flawless. It reminds me of a lot of cartoons that came out in the early to mid 2000s, including Scooby Doo and Avatar the Last Airbender. With fun illustrations such as these, the facial designs are sometimes over the top but the reactions are just hilarious. It plays itself towards younger readers, but even as an adult I had great fun reading this book.

Death's Door follows the trial and tribulations of a soul reaper, crow, as you progress through a series of puzzle-filled and action-packed levels. You play as a crow who has a job to get souls from creatures you encounter. Your job soon becomes a massive adventure.

As the crow reaper, you have assigned missions where you must collect the souls. The game starts in a sombre mood in a world lacking colour apart from the bright red sword you carry. However, before you know it the levels are filled with colours and you roam a plush world. The game does a fantastic job to tread between sombreness and being upbeat too.

"deathsdoor1"

The game starts with minimal instructions. I enjoyed this as it allows the player to explore and get used to the game. However, before you can do that, you have your first boss battle which turns into a hack and slash. You use the trusty bright red sword to kill the swathes of enemies that you encounter. The game shifts from dungeons that are a mix of hack and slash to dungeons full of puzzles. The game manages to make both gameplay elements enjoyable and challenging. Each level, puzzle and enemy get progressively more difficult, the instructions and assistance are kept to a minimum so it's up to the player to figure out the nuances of the game. While this seems subtle, it makes the game much richer, and the gameplay experience is gripping. I found it difficult to stop playing the game once I started.

The bosses are amazing; there is a real sense of accomplishment when you beat them. The bosses are a strange combination of weird, funny, and just plain odd. They are wonderfully rendered and full of detail.

"deathsdoor2"

I have to say I love the interconnected nature of each level. This gives a real feel that you are in a singular world and this helps to tie story elements too. Puzzles and unreachable sections become open as you progress through the game. The game does challenge the player to figure out what is available to do throughout the game.

The story is left purposely vague, and you will gather small morsels of information as you progress through levels and bosses. This helps to build up suspense, intrigue and tension. Each level helps to uncover more detail and builds the story into something of interest. The story has a mix of twists and turns with a beautiful soundtrack that helps to hammer the underlying theme.

"deathsdoor3"

The NPCs and your interactions act as the humour in the game and provide light-heartedness to the sombreness in the game, they also help drive the narration of the game too.

As this game is an indie game, there aren't any voice-overs. This is the only thing I think is missing for me, but the gameplay and story make up for it.

"deathsdoor4"

Death's Door combines a wonderful action-based game with a whole host of puzzles to solve. It has a brilliant mix of hack and slash, a beautifully crafted world that is intriguing and a joy to explore. Every aspect of the game has been designed impeccably, every small element including level design should be applauded. It's a wonderful game that excels in all elements: gameplay, story, music score and fun. I thoroughly enjoyed the game from start to end, I just found the game design and gameplay refreshing and such a joy.

Many people and countless expeditions have tried to find it but none have succeeded. The flower is said to cure any ailment and has so far been elusive to all. Lily is thought of very poorly by her peers and so she decides that she must journey to the Amazon, with the hope of finding the flower and using it to aid medical science. She and her younger brother, MacGregor (Jack Whitehall) journey to Porto Velho in Brazil to begin their search.

They come across a boat captain named Frank Wolff (Dwayne Johnson) who agrees to help them with their quest, but only for the right price...

"junglecruise2"

Pizza and Taco are two of the most excitable party food best friends you would ever find! They both enjoy water slides, having fun with their friends Hot Dog and Hamburger, going all out for a party - and now they have decided to create a comic book together! Only trouble is - they can’t agree on whose ideas are better?!

‘Pizza and Taco’ return for a third time as they go about creating their very own superhero comic. However they can’t seem to agree on which direction to take with both the story and artwork. Taco is very talented at art, but has perhaps over done it when it comes to his very muscly character design. Whereas Pizza has gone all out on his super-incredible superhero alter ego. Just what will these two fast food friends do in order to make this comic happen?!

"pizzaandtacosuper1"

The ‘Pizza and Taco’ comic series is perfect for young readers that are just starting out on their first chapter books. With cute and funny illustrations, full of imagination and laughs. The story is simple but still interesting for young readers so it should hold their attention. The chapters are short, but are useful for young readers that are just starting out on reading chapter books on their own. There is also some fun to be had for the adults that may read these stories for their kids, as the imagery alone is amusing. I mean what other book are you going to read that has pizza and taco characters acting like kids? It’s certainly an amusing book to bring up with the other parents at the school gate.

The next installation set of DLC has come out for Valhalla. The siege of Paris has you moving from Ravensthorpe to Paris in the next chapter of this game. There is another threat on the horizon for Eivor with King Charles.

To play the DLC you will have to complete one of the two first story arcs in England and an option to sail to Francia will be available at your camp. The recommended power level for the siege of Paris is 200 but, the game will adjust if you have a higher level. If you have played the Ireland DLC, it's similar as it's a standalone new area separate from England.

"ACV_paris1"

Francia, which is ruled by Charles the Fat, provides the new terrain and landscape you can explore; the Seine and medieval Paris is there to be seen. The staples of Assassin Creed are there such as the viewpoints, the parkour, and frenetic combat. Francia is big and filled with castles, churches, and hidden subterranean environments to navigate. The roaming countryside and some villages are where you and your trusty steed will navigate between Paris and other cities. French accents and tones are encountered as you talk to passers-by and as you encounter the many characters of this world. The world is a sublime mixture of the dark underworld with brightness interspersed, the game is primarily dark as the focus is battle for Francia.

I love the infiltration missions whereby you can decide how you approach the missions and how you will assassinate your targets. They have made this mission type enjoyable, and you can either act in a stealthy manner or go all guns blazing. The infiltration missions let you solve several quests to find out more about your target and its weaknesses. At this point, you have all the information you need to make your decision to proceed, this happens throughout the game.

"ACV_paris2"

The architecture is faithfully recreating buildings of that era. You will be able to equip new unique items such as clothing and weapons too. You will encounter new enemies, animals throughout the DLC. Ubisoft gets the mix of a new place to play with solid gameplay, stunning visuals, and intriguing story arcs to boot. It was a joy to play and see places I was familiar with. There are new abilities and new gameplay mechanics and buildings too. It's a solid offering and it adds to the game.

The standalone price for the Valhalla season pass costs €39.99. The season pass is included in the Gold and Ultimate editions of Valhalla.

The season pass will include access to Wrath of the Druids and The Siege of Paris which will be released later in the year.

The siege of Paris DLC is about 10 hours of main quests and about 5 hours of side missions. If you are a big fan of Valhalla or enjoyed it as much as I did, the price is reasonable for the two-part DLC. I enjoyed the reprisal of the infiltration missions and more mission-based assassinations which reminds me of the original. The story is intriguing, and you do feel a part of the story where your actions have an impact on the world. The production and voice acting, the darkness all have been executed well. This DLC just reminded me again how much I enjoyed playing Valhalla.

Many people and countless expeditions have tried to find it but none have succeeded. The flower is said to cure any ailment and has so far been elusive to all. Lily is thought of very poorly by her peers and so she decides that she must journey to the Amazon, with the hope of finding the flower and using it to aid medical science. She and her younger brother, MacGregor (Jack Whitehall) journey to Porto Velho in Brazil to begin their search.

They come across a boat captain named Frank Wolff (Dwayne Johnson) who agrees to help them with their quest, but only for the right price...

"junglecruise2"

The history of Valderia has been wrought with wars and violence for so long. With evil encroaching upon the Pridelands from every corner, each King has fought his own battles in order to both improve the lives of its citizens, and ultimately - keep them safe. This collection of ‘Tales of Valderia’, recounts the history of leadership starting from Eramad I down through his successors and the creation of the Battlecats. With a look back on the feline history and the great dangers that rose against them. As well as an in depth look into the Gods, lands, fractions and legendary heroes that sculpted the Vaderia of today. A must read for all Battlecats fans!

"battlecats_tov1_1"

‘Battlecats: Tales of Valderia’ is a collection of the four part mini series that revolved around the history of Valderia. These issues all dealt with the Eramad dynasty and the Battlecats. Issue One followed King Eramad I as he mourned the loss of the great General Sai and gave birth to the idea of a group of felines to protect the nation. Following that we lead onto King Eramad II, who doubted his leadership so much that he exiled himself and left the country to the very capable fans of the nations most loved individual - the Great Goadar. Moving on, we meet a very young Kelthan as he is escorted to the White Marsh Islands by Natharien, to begin his training. From which Kelthan meets Valadar for the first time, when he was leader of the Battlecats and a trusted ally to the King. And lastly we have a story on Valadar, not long after he parted ways at the White Marsh Islands. As ordered by his King, he returns to his homeland of Blackstone and is disgusted by the carry on of his people. He becomes agitated and furious by their actions, making him an ideal target for the shrouded form of Myrthalen to make her move. Also included is the 2019 Halloween Comicfest Special, which recounted the battle between the former Battlecats led by Valadar and an unknown dark force that had taken hold of the people of Healer’s Edge in Arkhovia.

"battlecats_tov1_2"

There is so much going on in this series, that it’s great to get a compiled mini series and guide such as this, to help expand our knowledge of the World we have been reading about for so long. The detailed maps, backgrounds on the Eramad lineage and even artwork for the Gods & Moon Warriors has been a great inclusion, alongside the backstories. It’s well worth picking up this compiled volume if you are indeed a massive Battlecats fan. I mean who isn’t at this stage?!
