Flash forward to present day and Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is still trying to co-exist with the alien symbiote known as Venom, who continuously makes his daily life as difficult as possible. Through his job as a reporter, Eddie is called by Detective Mulligan (Stephen Graham) to go and speak with Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) in jail and see if he can get him to reveal the locations of the people he murdered. Eddie is the only person that Cletus will speak to so he agrees to go and see what he can find out.. Cletus is on death row and has nothing left to lose. There’s an altercation during the visit and Cletus bites Eddie’s hand, drawing blood. During his execution, Cletus escapes and goes on the run. Everyone is now in extreme danger from the psychopath with enhanced skills..

This is the second film in the Venom series, with the first movie released back in 2018. We were initially introduced to Venom back in 2007 in the Spider-Man 3 movie, which starred Tobey Maguire in the title role. Peter Parker’s rival at the time was Eddie Brock and he became the symbiote’s host after following Peter up onto a church bell tower.

This second installment looks more into Eddie’s connection with Venom and how they co-exist, though not really willingly on Eddie’s part. All Venom wants to do is eat human brains but Eddie has made a bargain that means he only eats chicken and chocolate.

A really great movie, with a cast full of British actor cameos, Andy Serkis has done a fantastic job directing it. The fight scenes are particularly entertaining and Eddie Brock’s relationship with Venom is full of comedic asides and bickering.

Rated 15a and running at just over an hour and a half, it’s just the right length for you not to lose interest at any point. Go see this on a big screen and get the full visual experience. I’ll definitely be giving it another watch.

Oberall: 8.5/10

Starring: Daniel Craig, Rami Malek, Ben Whishaw, Lea Seydoux, Lahana Lynch, Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear

Director: Cary Joji Fukunaga

Release date: 30th September 2021

A young girl witnesses her mothers murder by a masked assailant, and runs for her life.

We’ve been waiting what seems like forever for this latest installment in the Bond franchise, with the films original release date back in March of 2020. After three postponements we finally get to see Daniel Craig’s swansong as James Bond and it’s a total rollercoaster from start to finish. Originally just called Bond 25, ‘No Time To Die’ is pretty much everything we all wanted it to be.
