Spearheaded by TC Harris and Fabrice Sapolsky, the Noir Is the New Black anthology series started in 2020, here on Kickstarter. The goal was simple: let African American creators express their creativity as freely and unfiltered as possible, through the lens of the Noir genre. Since its begining, the series has welcomed over 60 black creators , sold over 10,000 copies and been praised by many fans all across the world. It gave a traditional litterary genre, Black Noir, a comic book/graphic novel counterpart. Due to the anthology nature of Noir Is the New Black, it’s pretty easy to enter the series at any point.
What is Black Noir?
Contrary to a common belief, Black Noir is not a character from the hit series The Boys. Black Noir is a literary genre born in the 1960s, adapting Noir stories to African American realities. Many fabulous authors made the genre a success (and still are). Which led us to create a collection honoring Black Noir in graphic novel/comic book form. Noir Is the New Black was born!
What’s the 4-1-1?
The main issue, S02E03 is wrapping up the current Noir Stories by Black creators stories of the season:

A father, a son and… A mission. The Winterfields are a family of bounty hunters. And their mission is to protect Delilah Wood, a survivor of the Tulsa massacre who has seen too much for her own good. Murders, mobsters and dark twists are waiting for them on the page…
• LITTLE ROCK FILES by Greg Burnham, Quinn McGowan and Morby.
Teased as “Ousley” in the original Noir Is the New Black, then spun-off in its own title in 2023, Little Rock Files continues in Noir Is the New Black S02. Greg and Quinn picked up things where they left it off and… bodies are piling up around Detective Ousley! In this final issue, the story concludes and no one, including our reluctant hero, will be left unscathed.
But besides offering this third and last installment of the series, we’re actually taking this campaign one step further with collected editions.
