Graytail – Trailer

Mystery Action Adventure Graytail Reveals New Trailer at ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase, Launching Late 2027 | Backed by Outersloth (Among Us and Slay the Spire)

Indie game studio CONCODE today revealed a new trailer for Graytail, its upcoming mystery action adventure, during the ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase on October 20, and confirmed that the game will launch in late 2027.

The new trailer leans into the charm of the game’s 2.5D presentation and offers the first look at Chapter 3, currently in development. Graytail has been in development for nearly four years by a team of just two.
CONCODE also announced that Graytail received development funding from Outersloth, the indie game fund run by Innersloth, the studio behind Among Us. This is in conjunction with their other funding partners, Casey Yano (Mega Crit Games, creators of Slay The Spire) and a third mystery funding partner. Outersloth provides funding only, leaving the IP and creative direction entirely in the developer’s hands so the studio can finish the game its own way.

Graytail follows the search for a famous pilot who vanished over the Pacific. A detective plagued by relentless headaches takes up the case alongside the pilot’s daughter. Armed with a cane as their main weapon and sub-weapons like an umbrella and a frisbee, players ride a motorbike across five regions, combining their weapons with objects around them to solve puzzles along the way.

Graytail has gathered 50,000 wishlists on Steam, and its demo holds a “Very Positive” (98%) rating.
With the new funding, CONCODE is improving the combat system and giving the game’s story and regions more depth. As part of that work, the current demo will be taken down in November 2026, and a new demo featuring the reworked combat will be released at a later date.

Graytail is coming to PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox on PC in late 2027, with Xbox Play Anywhere support. Additional platforms will follow. The game can be wishlisted now on Steam and the Xbox Store.

“We were surprised by how quickly Outersloth decided to invest after our meeting. The terms alone show how developer-friendly they are compared to other publishers, but what we noticed most once we started talking was how much they trust developers and how ready they are to help in whatever way they can,” said Myeongjin Shin, co-founder of CONCODE.

“Outersloth was the partner we most wanted to work with from the very beginning. On top of that, being backed by Casey Yano and the third Outersloth partner is a real honor. And because it’s funding rather than a publishing deal, we also get to build the experience of releasing a game ourselves, which means a lot to us,” Shin added.

On the release window, Shin said: “We chose late 2027 so we could dig deeper into the combat and raise the overall quality of the game. We want to repay the players who have been waiting with a game that’s worth the wait.”
