Easy Delivery Co. is an indie game that was developed by Sam C and published by Oro Interactive. You play as a cat delivery driver who is working for a delivery company in a snowy mountain town. Through the simplicity, the town feels off, with the residents behaving oddly and everyone mistaking you for the previous driver. As you progress, the game slowly starts to reveal a darker narrative about identity, memories and corporate control, where workers and even personalities seem replaceable. It’s not a loud or dramatic story; instead, the game is quiet and eerie, which works well with the game’s tone. However, I will say that the narrative felt a bit vague, especially if you like a more direct-to-the-point storyline.

There is a distinct gameplay loop. You accept deliveries, load packages into your truck, drive through the snowy roads, deliver items, earn money, and upgrade your vehicle. All of this helps you as the player, but also advances the plot and progresses the story. If your packages fall, you are able to go collect them; if not, you can start the job over. What makes this game unique is the weather element, which introduces snowstorms and freezing temperatures that affect your gameplay, and the survival element of trying to stay warm and using energy drinks to stay ‘awake’.

The game also allows exploration and unlocking new areas, and further uncovering secrets. The gameplay is definitely relaxing, and you can easily zone out while driving, enjoying the scenic views of the mountains, whilst paying attention to make sure your cargo does not fall off the truck. The gameplay can feel a bit repetitive with the deliveries and trying to earn money, with the limited missions.

The controls are extremely simple and accessible to all players, whether you are using a controller or a keyboard and mouse. The simplicity fits the game’s relaxed nature. Though there is a bit of a challenge, especially when trying to navigate on the ice roads. In my opinion, the game’s strongest aspects would be its low graphics and pixelated textures, with the minimalist environments that had attracted me from the beginning. The game has a dark tone, yet still feels comforting.

The soundtrack is subtle yet effective, with the lo-fi beats and in-game radio stations. Music plays while the player is driving, which enhances the feel of isolation, repetition and helps to focus. Combining the environmental sounds of the wind, engine and other ambient noises, the audio design creates a meditative yet slightly haunting experience, which is perfect for the game.

Easy Delivery Co. might not be the game for everyone, but those who play it will think it’s truly special. The game is less about action or challenge, more about the mood and quiet storytelling, which allows you to sink into it. It’s a beautiful, atmospheric indie experience that truly blends cosy gameplay and merry vibes, which is a bit held back by the slight repetition, but it is still highly memorable.
