Summary:
We start this second issue starts with a horse-tamer named Chandra Shah, as he travels through rainy and traverse weather to visit the queen, Maharani Durgavati, during supper. The queen decides to release the army of the two kings, as an oppositional force advances towards the queen. That oppositional force is Rahmi Khan’s army, which was introduced in the previous issue.
Solomon Kane continues on his trek, with a lion companion and his ancient staff. He runs into Qura Khan, who helps to find a place to stay in the indian deserts. The issue continues as several characters appear, such as the Shah, and his inner turmoil between being a prince and a logical commander of an army. Solomon Kane is placed at the Jahaz Mahal, an upscale palace where he rests his head, as he runs across old friends Abramo and Diamonta.
There are many characters in this series, and it can be challenging to keep up with the several storylines if readers are not fully engaged. I recommend that readers who choose to read Solomon Kane pay attention closely from beginning to end, as the dialogue itself leaves clues for the reader to discover.
Solomon Kane also recalls the story of obtaining the mystical staff from N’Longa, an old shaman whom he previously crossed paths with. This issue ends with another appearance from Lopesh, as he comes back to life as a vampire, lurking within Khan’s army.
Another solid issue, as Solomon Kane reaches his goals inch by inch. Readers of Solomon Kane will enjoy this one.
