SoKawaii “Adorable Friends” June Box
I’m back again with my second SoKawaii box review, with June’s crate. Now first off, this is not a paid promotion, I’m doing this myself as I have been wanting to give this subscription a go for quite some time. The first box was so good, that I ended up renewing it again for July and August. So there will be more reviews of these boxes for the next couple of months at least.
Now for those of you that don’t know about this brand, SoKawaii is a Japanese company that put 6 to 8 items in a box each month and send it straight to your doorstep. Now the word Kawaii is the Japanese word for cute, which certainly describes the items they pick each month, as well as being practical they are also adorable and some are exclusives that can not be bought in shops – even in Japan. So June’s theme was “Adorable Friends”, which featured items from Pokémon, Sailor Moon and Sanrio. The largest item inside the box was a My Melody Mochi Plush Cushion, which is incredibly soft! Now there was a selection of three characters, including My Melody, Pompompurin and Cinnamoroll. I would have loved to have gotten Pompompurin, but am still happy with what I received. The quality is really good, although I did see a few stray threads around one of the ears, but easily mended. Still on the Sanrio train, I also got a pack of Pompompurin stickers, which come in their own little pouch. I’ve already decorated a birthday card with them. Now the most useful product that I found in the box, was the Little Twin Stars cooler bottle holder. Very cute, useful and I can’t wait to start using it.
Now as you can see from this picture, I also got a Pokémon porcelain plate. Which I am very surprised didn’t break in the post, seeing as my box arrived a little worse for wear. Now I still have this in the box, as I haven’t decided what I am going to do with it yet or if I’m going to display it. Now onto Sailor Moon, I got a really nice hardback notebook with all the Sailor Scouts on the front. Inside there are some details on each of the pages, which is a lovely touch and just shows how high quality it is to get official merch from Toei Animation.
Now that was all the good points about this box, the only downside is the last item. Which is a pink, kangaroo-looking shower puff. A very odd item to be included, not from any anime or brand that I can find. It’s as though there was no thought involved in adding this item, I think it was just to make up the price.
Overall this subscription is definitely worth checking out, also Free Shipping! Now I do suggest adding on the $3 tracking and insurance, as I was getting eager to see my box and was worried what was taking so long..
