Our story starts at Red Hook Terminal in Brooklyn, where a police canine called Max is on a stakeout. A stolen baby panda is being sold on the black market and as a result, Max is partnered with a human cop called Frank (Will Arnett) to try and solve the mystery. The pair are instructed to go to Las Vegas and participate undercover in a dog show at Caesar’s Palace called the ‘Canini Invitational’ to try and find the thieves, who are rumoured to be using the show as their next target. The dog show is extremely prestigious and canines from all over the country are desperate to win the coveted trophy. Can Max, Frank and their new found doggie friends solve the mystery and free the baby panda?

Very much a kid’s movie from start to finish, ‘Show Dogs’ will delight young kids and entertain them for the whole hour and a half. I really loved the CGI and the dogs looked as though they were actually talking. This will be a great movie for the kids on their school summer holidays and I can see groups of kids going to it for an afternoon out with their parents. I mean, what kid doesn’t love a movie with talking dogs in it? Probably not one for the teenagers to see but it’ll be great for spending some quality family time together.

If you’re looking for a movie that’s entertaining for young kids and consists of a pretty harmless story, then take them along to ‘Show Dogs’. I think that even the grown-ups will laugh at some of the scenes and won’t really get bored at any point.

A great movie for a fun afternoon out with the kids, make sure you take them to see ‘Show Dogs’. They’re gonna love it.

Overall: 7.5/10
