London, UK: Indie studio Oxalis Games today announced that Moonfrost is coming to Steam Early Access on October 12th at 6 PM UK time. Blending the warmth of a cozy life-sim with deep building systems. The unique twist on the genre invites players to restore a struggling village, build relationships with a diverse cast of characters and heal a community from within.Â
Moonfrost pairs a relaxing slice-of-life experience with a strong overarching narrative. Players harvest, fish, forage, craft and cook. While constructing and customizing every detail of a town devastated by meteor storms. As a Frost Hunter, the player learns to harness the mysterious powers of Moonfrost, transforming the fallen meteors into a wide array of structures and creating order from the chaos. As the village comes back to life, so do the stories of the people who live there.
At its heart, Moonfrost is about building and restoring a community you’ll come to care about. Forging a relationship with each character and helping them rebuild their homes and businesses is the game’s unique offering. Every character has distinct personality traits and evolving arcs and the choices players make shape the dynamics of the world around them.
A deep, rewarding gameplay loop ties it all together: harvest raw materials, craft and build, take on quests that unlock new tools, explore hidden temple areas and fund future crafting through requests and trade. Nature elements such as weather, a day/night cycle and sleep bring the world to life, while an advanced inventory and resource management system gives players plenty to master.
