A short time later, an unknown man turns up at a US Embassy and says he has secrets to bargain with, but he wants out of the country in return. He gives them an ultimatum but the window for action is slim. Silva’s unit, ‘Overwatch’ is given the task of transporting the man 22 miles to an airfield where he can be put on a plane to leave. Unfortunately lots of other groups want the guy as well and they will do whatever’s necessary to get their hands on him before he is able to leave the country. Can Silva and his people deliver the ‘package’ before millions of lives are eradicated?

‘Mile 22’ is ultimately a game of cat and mouse but with more than one cat doing the chasing. A really great cast, ably led by Mark Wahlberg, the film is a rollercoaster from start to finish. Lots of twists and turns will leave you wondering who in fact who are the good guys and who are the bad.

It’s a pretty violent movie throughout and if you’re in any way squeamish, then maybe think before you watch it, but definitely give it a go anyways.

I really love movies like this; ones that keep you guessing while also keeping you entertained. There are also twists in there that you won’t see coming.

A fast paced movie with lots of car chases and a pretty high body count, ‘Mile 22’ is definitely one to watch on a mates night out. It’s a bit of a bloke-y film alright, but don’t let that stop you from giving it a watch.

Overall: 8/10
