Glasgow 2024 Releases Hugo Awards Voter Packet

Glasgow 2024 is delighted to announce that the 2024 Hugo Awards Voter Packet is now live. Members can access the Voter Packet via the convention website at https://glasgow2024.org/hugo-awards/.

The Hugo Awards Voter Packet is a collection of material made available free of charge to Worldcon Members to assist them in deciding how to vote in the Final Ballot for the 2024 Hugo Awards, the Lodestar Award for Best Young Adult Book, and the Astounding Award for Best New Writer.

The reading material, artwork, and videos have been graciously provided by the finalists and their publishers and other copyright holders. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity.

The material is available to download for members’ personal use only from now until the end of the Hugo voting period. Members who wish to take advantage of the Voter Packet should therefore do so before voting closes on Saturday, 20th July 2024, 20:17 GMT.

(Glasgow 2024 has chosen to close voting at 20:17 GMT on 20th July because that will be 55 years *to the minute* since Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin first landed on the moon in 1969).

About the Hugo Awards

The Hugo Awards are the most prestigious award in the science fiction genre, honouring science fiction literature and media as well as fan activities. The Awards were first presented in 1953 and have been awarded every year since 1955 by the members of the World Science Fiction Society (Worldcon members) at the World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon).

The winners of this year’s awards will be announced at a formal ceremony to be held in Glasgow on the evening of Sunday 11th August. Full voting results will be published at that time.
