Summary:
This issue continues where we last left off, with the Son of the Tooth luring Conan away, only to challenge him to a duel. Son of the Tooth shares blades with Conan as he drains energy out of unwilling soldiers. Conan and the son bounce around different areas, as Conan struggles to get a hit in with the warlock.
The action scenes steal the show for this issue. There’s less moving pieces towards pushing the story forward, and more feats of exhilarating fights are shown. Conan is thrown into a party, where he struggles toe to toe with the Son of the Tooth using a fireplace to throw hot coals on his skin. Conan tries to maintain distance between the two when the Son of the Tooth declares that “men are monsters!” while he gains speed between the barbarian. The men continue to tussle, as the son gets a few blows in that brings Conan to his knees. The Son of the Tooth stands over his body, gazing at the moon, when Conan launches a surprise attack at the last moment. The son falls to his knees for the last time.

This issue does not disappoint; it jumps straight into the action and does not stop until the last page. My hats off between the writer and the artist, as it takes skill to keep the story as fast-paced as the action scenes that transpire in every panel. Readers will need to read the previous issues in order to follow along with the story for this one, but I’m sure that anyone can get something out of this issue, regardless if they are regular Conan readers.
Overall: 9/10
