Aspen Comics Debuts Its First New Series of 2018

Aspen Comics is celebrating fifteen years of publishing in 2018, and the publisher will be releasing several all-new properties in addition to bringing back classic series from their vast library of titles. The first new series, available now, is Portal Bound, a fantasy action-adventure series from creators Mark Roslan and Gabe Carrasco. Solicitation copy for the debut zero issue reads:

Their Future Depends on Each Other as Aspen’s 15-Year Anniversary kicks off with the debut of their newest series!

A parallel otherworld exists as a mirror to our own, where science is melded with nature and a warrior spirit defines their true value. A teenage soldier princess, Sybil, is sent off with her Uncle Horuk in an effort to stop her megalomaniac father, Emperor Atilus from destroying two planets. With a deadly array of monstrous creatures in hot pursuit, Sybil and her uncle race to activate a portal to Earth to find a savior who is also figuring out how to survive…being a teenager!

Don’t miss the opening chapter to Aspen’s brand new action-adventure saga from writers Mark Roslan (BubbleGun, Broken Pieces) and newcomer Gabe Carrasco, with artist Alex Arizmendi (Edge of Venomverse: War Stories, Secret Empire: Brave New World) and colorist Wes Hartman (Soulfire, Santeria: The Goddess Kiss) as they bring us a tale of two worlds in need of two heroes!

Portal Bound #0 premiered February 7th for only $1.50 and features two direct edition covers by series artist and Aspen newcomer, Alex Arizmendi, and Adam Archer (Psycho Bonkers, Gotham Academy). Creator Gabe Carrasco voices his enthusiasm for the series team:

Mark Roslan and I couldn’t be more excited to see our brand new world of Portal Bound come to life! Series artist and designer Alex Arizmendi took all our crazy ramblings and descriptions and really focused them into a wonderful, tangible world we think readers can walk right in to. Once superstar colorist Wes Hartman got his hands on the series, our story just exploded off the page! And of course, Zen added that special lettering touch to complete the story that we and Aspen Comics are really proud of. While Portal Bound #0 is only a small taste of what’s to come, we hope readers will have a blast experiencing Sybil, Eli, and all our characters’ journey through the new and colorful world of Havos!

Portal Bound #0 is in stores now and Portal Bound #1 is set for an in-store date of April 4th. Aspen has provided the following item codes to order Portal Bound #0 and pre-order Portal Bound #1 with your local retailer.
