Summary:
This issue of Adventure Time is a Halloween special, and it’s titled “Those Who Fight Monsters”, as it starts off with Finn and Jake being banished to a dungeon after seeking to fill their adventures guild cards. The dungeon that the two are banished to is called Menagerie Park, as the two are transformed into monsters.
The artwork looks light and exactly like the television series. It’s colorful and easy to look at, which is important considering that the target audience would be middle-grade children. Finn and Jake continue to fight their way through the dungeon as they encounter other characters that will be familiar to people who have watched the show, such as BMO, Abacadaniel, and more. The two go deeper into lower levels of the dungeon, as they discover that the only way to escape is to use the help of their friends.
Those who fight monsters is a solid edition for younger readers, and I think readers who have watched Adventure Time will enjoy this solid story.
