Sarah Kopp sets The Lost on Dredd, but before they can tuck into his delectable yum-yum, Fargo and Locke appear and rescue him. Dredd won’t leave until he’s dealt with the Baba Yaga.
Cornwell’s art is always stunning, and Blythe plays with warm and cool colours to bring the action home. Speaking of warmth, Fargo and Dredd share a moment. Dredd thinks he had been abandoned, but Fargo was always coming for him, and this exchange makes me wonder if Dredd succumbed to the brutality of The Oubliette because he had lost hope of ever leaving it, or because he was free from the constraints of the law. He was finally free to be as violent as he was able to be.
Fall of Deadworld

Eunomia flicks Arthur’s blood from her claws and re-awakens Lisa’s alter ego, Sister Psiren, and monologues to Jessica about how she caused all her woes.
Despite the monologue, it’s still propulsively entertaining, with Kendall serving up a visual feast while the narrative vitamins sneak in. The art really is bonkers stuff. It’s a shame that we have to wait another 15 weeks to get more from this series, but that gives me just enough time to read everything that came before.
Brink

Kurtis and the Chief Thereshare onto BRV 1 to talk down Gita, but it’s too late. Gita’s the only survivor. Kurtis, the Chief and Gita share a vision.
Tense! The huge eye’s appearance appears roughly once per arc, if my brief flick through volumes 2 and 3 tells me anything, so I look forward to fully reading Brink before book 8 begins. Using the eye as a cliffhanger is inspired stuff, so never mind book 8, I’m looking forward to next week.
Rogue Trooper: Ran Amok

In a brief but action-packed episode, Rogue meets his old Nort pal, the droid from prog 2476.
Colour feels flat in places, with nothing appearing very bright or very dark, but regardless, it’s a fine action tale where we have another appearance of the droid. I hope we see it again in a longer story.
Overall: 6/10
