Double Fine & iam8bit Announce 5th Annual Day of the Devs

5th Annual Day of the Devs Game Lineup Details Revealed

Day of the Devs is back with an impossibly excellent day of games, devs, fun, music, art and food. After searching far and wide for the most spectacular indie titles, today, Double Fine Productions is raising the virtual velvet curtain to unveil the highly anticipated game lineup and activities for Day of the Dev’s fifth anniversary.

Returning with five times the fun, the free festival hosted by Double Fine Productions and iam8bit will feature several games that will be playable for the first time, including Untitled Goose Game, Into the Breach, The Rig and Session among other new and unreleased indie titles, as well as food trucks, art exhibits and live music sets by Baiyon (Pixeljunk Eden, 4am), Ben Prunty (FTL, Into the Breach), Jim Guthrie (Sword & Sworcery, Below), Darren Korb (Bastion, Transistor, Pyre) and Slime Girls (Ooblets). Additionally, Girls Make Games and Gameheads will be at the event to exhibit creations from the next wave of talented young game devs and talk about the resources they provide for underrepresented groups in the game development community. The festival will take place on November 11, 2017 from 1PM to 8PM (starts at 12PM for VIP) at The Midway (900 Marin Street) in San Francisco’s Dogpatch District.

“We have been waiting on pins and needles to share everything we have instore for the fifth anniversary,” said Double Fine President and CEO Tim Schafer. “Now with Day of the Devs less than a month away, I can tell you that it’s going to be the best lineup yet! Last year we had thousands of people lined down the block to experience Day of the Devs, and even as our attendance record has grown, we’ve been able to maintain a really unique experience for devs and gamers alike. Five years ago, Day of the Devs was founded on the principle of showcasing games as works of art, presented by the artists that made them to the people that love them. Now five years in, we’re honored see that this principle has stuck, and we can’t wait to hang out with you all and show you the incredibly awesome games these talented developers have been working on.”
