Summary:
This issue is titled “The City That Never Dies Part 1”, and it starts off with Karai at the Foot’s headquarters. Shini comes to Karai and begs her to send the Kamiza Shishi back to the land of the dead, which was shown in previous issues. Shishi was shown a horrible vision of the future and wants the beings to go back into the underworld.

We switch back over to Shen’s hangout, where the turtles realize that the door knocker that opens portals is captured and is being used by Baxter Stockman to cause havoc on the city. The Shredder appears to bargain with Shen as he notices that something is wrong with the veil between the living and the dead.
I like the teamwork of all the characters, especially that now the Shredder has joined with the turtles to stop Baxter Stockman from keeping the door knocker. The dialogue, action scenes and the artwork continue to be great, including adding the team-ups with characters such as Papa Beng, fights against Bebop and Rocksteady, etc.

TMNT continues to be a solid series to read each month, but I do think that longtime fans of this series will get more out of this than new readers, as it has several strings of story that can be lost on new readers.
Overall: 7.5/10
