About Alex Ross
Alex Ross is one of the most extraordinary artists in the industry. His painted art is instantly recognizable and his depictions of superheroes and villains are revered. His work has appeared in magazines, on posters (in 2002 he designed the official promo poster for the 74th Academy Awards) and numerous comic book covers. His originals have been on exhibit in museums and sell for thousands of dollars. He studied illustration at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, then honed his craft as a storyboard artist in advertising like his mother, before entering the comics field. His miniseries Marvels opened a wider acceptance for painted comics. In 1996, he moved on to produce the equally successful Kingdom Come for DC Comics. Ross is also the writer and artist of Fantastic Four: Full Circle—the award-winning national bestseller—The Alex Ross Marvel Comics Poster Book, The Alex Ross Marvel Comics Super Villains Poster Book, Fantastic Four: Full Circle (Expanded Edition), Uncle Sam: Special Election Edition with Steve Darnall, and Marvels: The Novelization by Steve Darnall.  Â
