The multiplayer game where players disguise themselves as NPCs officially leaves Early Access with its biggest update yet.
Tunis, Tunisia – 10th July 2026 – Independent developer NewGen Studio today announced that North Hunt will officially launch Version 1.0 on July 13, coinciding with Steam Social Deduction Fest.
While most social deduction games revolve around hidden identities, North Hunt challenges players to do something different: become a convincing NPC.
Players blend into a living Viking village by fishing, chopping wood, praying, playing music, and mimicking the daily routines of bot villagers all while secretly completing objectives and trying not to reveal themselves.
On the other side, Chiefs carefully observe the village, searching for the smallest suspicious movement before striking the impostors hiding in plain sight.
The result is a multiplayer experience built around observation, deception, trust, and the hilarious moments that happen when someone completely fails to “act normal.”
Launching during Steam Social Deduction Fest, North Hunt brings its biggest update since entering Early Access with Version 1.0.
Version 1.0 Highlights
Two brand-new roles:
- Gnome (Thief) – shrink down and use your size to deceive and escape in unexpected ways.
- Glider (Chief) – patrol the village from above and track down suspicious players.
- Bots for both teams, allowing players to enjoy complete matches even without a full lobby.
- Expanded progression, including 10 new player levels and 10 new Chief skins to unlock.
- New Twitch Drops rewards with two exclusive cosmetic skins.
- Improved in-room communication, quality-of-life improvements, UI polish, matchmaking improvements, and expanded customization options.
- An official community wiki is now directly accessible from the game’s main menu.
