Prague, 20. October 2026 – The first public demo of Knights of the Fall is now available on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest. Developed by Airo Games in cooperation with Bohemia Interactive via the Bohemia Incubator program, the game follows Haru, a katana-wielding veteran who harnesses time and gravity and teams up with former NASS scientist Yoshida in search of the coordinates needed to return Earth to its own dimension.
Knights of the Fall is a story-driven sci-fi action platformer that combines katana combat with gravity- and time-bending abilities in a post-apocalyptic world presented in a cinematic 2D/3D hybrid style. After mysterious signals from outer space offered breakthroughs in gravity and time manipulation, NASS opened a portal that pulled Earth into another dimension. Haru and former NASS scientist Yoshida must piece together what happened and find a way back, uncovering a mysterious connection between interdimensional travel and the afterlife.
Surviving the ruins takes more than a sharp blade. Players must dodge and parry incoming attacks, combine katana strikes with ranged weapons, and use gravity pull to bring enemies within reach. The demo introduces Haru and Yoshida’s partnership and takes players into an abandoned NASS hospital to recover records linking missing scientists to mysterious anomalies. Their investigation is a first step toward locating the coordinates needed to bring Earth home.
The demo features three locations:
- Dream Sequence: Learn the foundations of combat in Haru’s unsettling dream.
- Yoshida’s Base: Wake from the dream and meet the scientist working to save Earth.
- NASS Hospital: Fight through a ruined hospital to recover records connecting missing scientists to anomalies that hold the coordinates needed to return Earth to its original dimension.
