Ex-Awesomenauts developers drop debut demo for upcoming arena brawler ‘Nubs!’ today on Steam

Bruges, Belgium and Utrecht, The Netherlands – February 10, 2025 – Indie co-developers Glowfish Interactive and Rangatang have unleashed the debut demo for Nubs!, the upcoming arena brawler currently in development at the Belgian and Dutch studios, whose design is being helmed by some of the minds behind the 2012 indie cult classic ‘Awesomenauts’. Starting today on Steam, players can jump in and go hands-on with this brand-new multiplayer experience aimed at continuing the “fun-first” design philosophy of Awesomenauts, but in arena brawler form… with a roguelite twist
In the demo, players can test their mettle in local and online action (4 players and up) across two different game modes including a 2v2 team battle mode and the elimination-based ‘Last Nub Standing’ in arenas bursting with formidable weaponry and deadly traps! No match of Nubs! is quite the same and prior to battle, players can kit out their character with an assortment of unique outfits and accessories. Once the dust has settled and a victor has been declared, they can also choose a handy ability to bring with them into the next scrimmage that could help turn the tide of battle.
Budding brawlers can dip their toes in now via the free demo as part of Steam’s ‘Couch Co-op’ digital event and during the upcoming Steam Next Fest, before the game launches in the first half of 2025.
