MASTERS OF ALBION: NEW BEGINNNINGSÂ
Update doubles performance as studio introduces redesigned progression and reworked night combat, marking the midway point between Early Access and Full Release in style.
Guildford, United Kingdom, October 1st: 22cans announces New Beginnings, a major update for Masters of Albion, launches into the Steam Autumn Sale at a 20% discount on October 1st, 6PM BST.
Shaped by player feedback, New Beginnings revisits several of the game’s fundamental systems to answer questions posed by players so far, establishing a new foundation for Masters of Albion’s continued development.
“The New Beginnings update is the foundation we want to continue building Masters of Albion
upon.
It has been shaped by what players have told us since we entered Early Access, and by a passionate team willing to revisit and rebuild major parts of the game.
It’s full of brilliant changes and we believe it is an important, daring step forward. I can’t wait to continue creating Masters of Albion alongside the community.”
Peter Molyneux, Founder & Creative Director, 22cans
The update moves Masters of Albion from HDRP to URP, requiring almost every in-game asset to be rebuilt or converted, work that has delivered up to double the frame rate in internal testing, a feat the studio sees as the basis for continued improvements in performance.
An independent, self-publishing studio, 22cans took player feedback gained from early versions of MoA, and combined it with data from players who took part in a closed beta, to guide the teams’ hand over the course of the last 6 months as they sought to improve every aspect of the game.
New Beginnings introduces:
- The Orkenstone’s malevolent corruption warps the landscape, its poison rampaging across all Albion, a land dying to its touch.
- Narrative led, objective based product orders lead the player through the ups and downs of their customers’ woeful lives.
- A wonderfully improved Design Table complete with real time feedback on every block, paint, part, and design added, at the snap of a finger.
- Night Fights come with their own deadly challenges and rewards. To survive is one thing, but to conquer with impunity means rich rewards, unique buffs and boosters, rare parts, godlike hand powers – an Arcadium’s worth of Reward Cards to empower your play.
- The Arcadium itself gets a complete overhaul, growing into a card collector’s paradise.
- Feel the world react to your touch – prod, waft, caress, and cajole your way around the game as the God Hand becomes a solid presence in Albion.
- A landscape in the lap of the gods! Mysterious new colossal structures dominate the skyline. AÂ link to the past or a foreshadowing of the future?
New Beginnings marks a shift in the way the studio focuses, as it switches its attention to delivering content consistently and building towards the game’s full release date.
New Beginnings launches for Masters of Albion on October 1st, 6PM BST, and will feature in the Steam Autumn Sale, at a 20% discount.
