Summary:

This issue continues where we left off, with Conan and Dragonero upon the skyship, encountering Wyverns, or flying creatures. Dragonero beats them with skill, while Conan slashes them to pieces.

The skyship flies against abrasive winds, as the two men are able to cut the creatures down and fly into snowy weather and territory. Later on, we fast-forward to a cold, dark castle where a talking dragon resides along with a water spirit. The water spirit tells the dragon that the wyverns he loosed on the two warriors failed to slow them down on their journey. The water spirit’s name is Undine, and she seems to stay close to the dragon for healing.

On the ship, it loses sail gradually, as the skyship crashes in a small village. Dragonero is able to convince the villagers to help repair the skyship, while the two men travel on foot into deeper snowy territory. At this point of the issue, we leave behind the sailor that helped fly the skyship within the village to help repair the ship.

We hit the climax as the two men discover the castle where the dragon hides. The dragon reveals himself to Conan and Dragonero, and exposes his wings.

This series continues to become a solid story as we are getting closer to “slaying the dragon”. The pacing is solid considering most of this issue was a fight in the skies, between the wild wyverns. The colors are still tight, and the dialogue is dense but packed with crucial information for each scene that moves along. I think the plot is a little easier to understand, three issues in now that we are past the introduction phase of the storyline. This series continues to be a great crossover.

Overall: 8/10
