Summary:
This issue starts off with a blast as the readers are pulled into an intense race between Speed Racer and Meglaton. Before the race, an investigation happens where Racer X states that he believes that the Tiger Syndicate had former ties with The Brotherhood of Anarchy, a team that opposes other racers such as Speed.
Speed and Meglaton race each other to the finish until Speed’s car, the Mach 5, starts to sputter and is taken off of the racetrack. The team rebound back together during break time to find out that the car’s transmission needed fixing.

The second half of this issue pulls us back into another race, where Speed becomes more aggressive in using the Mach 5 against other drivers, until he faces Meglaton. Meglaton is ready for his attacks, using whips and vines from the vehicle. Speed emphasizes that the only thing that matters to him is that he wins. A stark contrast to Meglaton, who seems to only care about eliminating Speed.

The issue comes to an end as it’s revealed that Speed wins the race, but disappears. Racer X is called to investigate Speed’s whereabouts.
David Pepose’s writing keeps the reader engaged, and it packs a punch. David Tinto’s artwork is expressive, and the colors compliment each other, so props to Canola as well. This was a fun read, and hopefully readers will feel the same. This is a continuation from the previous issues, so readers will have to catch up.
Overall: 9/10
