Ninja Kiwi launches graphic novel-inspired platform shooter Rose and Locket on Steam
Six years in development, the handcrafted 2D adventure blends western outlaw action, puzzle platforming and comic book storytelling.
Auckland, New Zealand, May 27th 2026 – Ninja Kiwi proudly announces the release of Rose and Locket, now available on Steam. Developed by Whistling Wizard and published by Ninja Kiwi, this visually stunning 2D platform shooter puts the player in the role of Rose, an outlaw gunslinger. To save her daughter’s soul Rose must journey into the Underwest – the wild west’s mysterious underworld – and hunt the Deadly Sins. Each dynamic scene blurs the line between graphic novel and game experience, where the deeply compelling adventure story plays out across beautifully handcrafted single- and multi-panel screens that create signature puzzle components for both platforming and shooting.
In development for 6 years, Rose and Locket is the latest offering from New Zealand’s rich and developing indie games scene. Rose and Locket is live now on Steam for both Windows and Mac, with both keyboard-mouse and full controller support to maximize the options for the precision controls need to take on and defeat the Underwest.
