Irodori Comics has just launched a Kickstarter campaign for a box set featuring four seminal stories by Isaki Uta, Isaki Uta: The Lost & Found Collection. The Lost & Found Collection includes Mine-kun is Asexual, Leaper, Mermaid in the Bottle and Silkscreen.
Hi Isaki, it’s so wonderful to have you here with us. Can you tell us about the origins of The Lost & Found Collection?
For my self-published books, I draw whenever I get the inspiration for a story, and it isn’t like I publish them with a specific plan or schedule. So, I am overjoyed by the fact that these individual stories of mine have come to create one tangible collection.
How would you describe The Lost & Found Collection?
I believe that The Lost & Found Collection features characters with various personal values and perspectives.
From the four stories in The Lost & Found Collection, is there one story that is closer to your heart than the others?
“Leaper” is a story I published right before my professional debut as a manga artist. It was the first story that received recognition from the editorial department of a publisher, and I won a small award for this story, so it brings back a lot of memories for me.
Any message for the ComicBuzz readers?
It would be wonderful if your readers could tell me which story from my collection they liked the most.
We would like to say thank you to Isaki for chatting with us. We would like to wish Isaki and Irodori Comics the best of luck with their Kickstarter campaign.
