Spoilers

Buckle your seatbelts and keep your hands and arms inside at all times as we go on this wild ride through RuinWorld! You’re in store for some big surprises in this issue, and boy, do I mean big. Following our furry, scaly, and uh, exoskelety friends as they bumble around a land of dangers grows more fun with each issue. For the third installment, tune in to see whether Pogo escapes the clutches of the frog folk, and whether Rex and Kale escape the clutches of the big bad wolf and his lackeys.

I am having a blast with these comics. The plot is moving along, picking up the pace with each consecutive issue, and the characters are divulging their identities and pasts in a way that doesn’t seem as forced as it does in other stories. The dialogue is witty and charming most of the time, though every once in awhile, it’s a little too simple for my liking. However, since this has a very “Saturday morning cartoon” feel to it, that’s only to be expected.

My love for the art knows no bounds. It is definitely my style, with all of the round figures and squat, chunky buildings. I can’t get enough of the expressive countenances and big eyes of the characters, even though it seems as if they are yelling constantly, even when they aren’t. Princess Lula is the most adorably funny toad I’ve ever seen, and all of the fuzzy critters are just as cute. I love the animated feel to the whole comic series.

Like the previous issues, this one ends on a cliffhanger as well, so I am already looking forward to, and speculating, on the what’s in store for us in the next episode. If you haven’t checked out RuinWorld yet, feel free to dive on in and immerse yourself. You’ll come out happier on the other side.

Overall: 9/10
