LAUNCH: Unreliable Narrators is proud to present interactive drama Two Falls (Nishu Takuatshina), launching November 8th 2024 on Steam & Epic!
We are excited to reveal our brand new launch trailer, announcing the launch of Two Falls on PC on November 8th! A demo is currently available on Steam from October 10th until the game’s release. Additionally, we are participating in the Steam Next Fest from October 14th to 21st.
Two Falls (Nishu Takuatshina) is a first-person single player, narrative-driven exploration game that presents contrasting perspectives on French and Indigenous first encounters. Explore 17th century Canadian wilderness in this 3D linear game and experience the intertwining journeys of Jeanne, a French King’s Daughter stranded far from the French colonies and Maikan, a young Innu hunter trying to uncover what is disturbing his native forest, land of his ancestors. Our main inspirations come from Firewatch and What remains of Edith Finch.
Two Falls is a game about indigenous stories, created in collaboration with indigenous creative minds. The composer and sound designer, art director, actors and story writer are indigenous. Isabelle Picard, ethnologist and Wendat writer is behind the original story of Two Falls. We also worked very closely with an Elder Council from Quebec that helped advise and guide us about the story they want to tell.
This year, we won the WINGS Award at Indie Cup 2024. WINGS invests in indie games by teams in which women and marginalized gender developers hold key positions. We also won the award for social impact at MEGAMIGS in 2022, Most inclusive video games initiative at Women In Games and many more before even releasing, underlining the importance of this kind of project.
