I am back yet again with another SoKawaii box review, cause we all need a little bit of cuteness with all that is currenty going on in the World. So this month\u2019s theme is \u201cPastel Wonderland\u201d, and has licensed products from Sanrio, Cardcaptor Sakura, Pok\u00e9mon and Sumikko Gurashi. So let\u2019s get started!<\/span>\r\n\r\nFirst off lets begin with the usual description of who SoKawaii is and what they have to offer. SoKawaii is a company based in Japan, home of practically everything kawaii (Japanese for cute). They create monthly boxes, jam packed with 100% licensed products from Hello Kitty, Pok\u00e9mon, Sanrio and more. The items range from plushies to Gachapon, little figures, stationary, lifestyle, kitchenware and more. The staff at SoKawaii handpicks 6 to 8 cute & useful items exclusive in Japan, pack them up in a very decorative box and send it straight to your doorstep. It also comes in two different designs, with one having more of the Cardcaptor Sakura cast around the bottle. Unfortunately I didn\u2019t get that one, but it is cute all the same. The only issue I have with it, is that it doesn\u2019t come with a cup attached, like most flasks do over here in Ireland.<\/span>\r\n\r\n $\"sokawaiimarch20_2\"$ \r\n\r\nNext item is the Eevee Tissue Box cover, which is perfect furnishing to have on your table as we all go through this pandemic. Now I don\u2019t know if tissue box covers are a big deal across the World, but it seems to be in Japan. So instead of using normal bog roll, I actually went out to my local Aldi and picked up a cheap box of tissues just so I could use the cover. You can pick up the regular sized rectangle tissue boxes fairly cheap, with Aldi being under 50cent, and they fit perfectly inside the cover. No need to break the bank people!<\/span>\r\n\r\n $\"sokawaiimarch20_3\"$ \r\n\r\nNow we also got a second Pok\u00e9mon themed item, with this cute Pikachu Coin Purse. It seems well made and has a good strong clasp, so I doubt your coins will be rolling around in your handbag anytime soon. This will be perfect to throw your odd bits of change into, so you don\u2019t fill up your wallet. Twill also be handy for me when I go to the arcades in Tokyo in October!!! The color scheme and designs also looks like it is a Pok\u00e9mon\/Demon Slayer collab.<\/span>\r\n\r\n $\"sokawaiimarch20_4\"$ \r\n\r\nApologies for the next few photos, the previous images are from the official SoKawaii Facebook account but the rest are from my phones\u2019 camera. So whilst we are all in need of some comfort, SoKawaii have also included a plush toy! He is a KoroKoro Pastel Shiba Plush, he fits in the palm of your hand and is super soft. Perfect to just have on your shoulder, nestled into your neck as you watch TV. He also comes in 6 different colors, all pastel with mine being a cute lilac color, also they all have a butt stitched in!! Which I find both insanely cute and hilarious!!<\/span>\r\n\r\n $\"sokawaiimarch20_5\"$ \r\n\r\nNext up are two cute items you could use in your bathroom, starting with a four pack of Sumikko Gurashi sponges. Now by the looks of them I say you could either use these in the bathroom on your person or in the kitchen doing the washing up. On each sponge is a different character, featuring the Penguin, Shirokuma, Neko and Tokage. We also get a pretty handy toothbrush stand, with My Melody pictured all around it. Very cute to have in your bathroom, with a detachable bottom so you can clean out the dripping water regularly. If you don\u2019t fancy using it as a toothbrush holder, it's also pretty handy to have on your desk as a pen holder.<\/span>\r\n\r\n $\"sokawaiimarch20_6\"$ \r\n\r\nAnd lastly we have a snack item, which is a first as I haven\u2019t seen any included in all the boxes I have been getting. It is called a Hina-Arare, a traditional rice cracker snack used to celebrate Hina Matsuri (Girls Day) in Japan. Held on the 3rd of March every year, this festival celebrates Hinamatsuri, also known as the doll festival, to celebrate female children and pray for their continued health and happiness. During this holiday, also known as momo no sekku (peach festival), families display ceramic dolls dressed in the ornate, decorative robes of the ancient imperial court. This festival has been celebrated for over a 1,000 years now in Japan, dating as early as 794! So to see such an item included in this month\u2019s box to celebrate the day is great, I do wish they included more information on the festival though. So there you have it, that is everything that was included in March\u2019s box. It\u2019s super soft, well made and is a perfect gift to receive on Valentine\u2019s Day (or White Day next month for you ladies over in Japan). Now the heart that Rilakkuma is holding, is actually hollow inside, so you could get creative and put an extra gift in there for your loved one, if you do plan on giving it away. There is also an interesting design on the back of Rilakkuma, with a sewn on zipper. It seems to follow the same design that they used for the character in the Netflix series.<\/span>\r\n\r\n $\"sokawaiifebruary2020_2\"$ \r\n\r\nMoving on, I got three Pok\u00e9mon products in this box. First off is the sheet of Eevee stickers, which also includes some images of Pok\u00e9balls & evolution stones. As well as the adorable Pok\u00e9mon Eevee jumping about and playing. Carrying on with the Pok\u00e9mon stationary theme, we also received an Eevee pen! I mean I have been loving these pens that they include in the box every few months, as I am still using my pink Kirby pen now. Now leaving the stationary theme behind, we move onto baking with a two pack of cake moulds. Now I received the Pikachu version, but you could have also gotten Pompompurin. I haven\u2019t a clue how to read the writing on the back of the packaging, but going by the leaflet inside, the mould is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe! Can\u2019t wait to use these soon, but what recipe should I use?<\/span>\r\n\r\n $\"sokawaiifebruary2020_3\"$ \r\n\r\nNext up is another kitchen item, with this cute and very useful Hello Kitty spatula. It seems pretty sturdy, but I am not sure how heat resistant its\u2019 going to be so just be careful when using it. For all of you that love your coffee on the go, SoKawaii also included a Sumikko Gurashi cup sleeve. If you have ever bought a hot drink to go over the years, you know how fast those disposable cups heat up! The cup sleeve is designed to save you from burning the finger prints off of your digits. The packaging is actually really cute, as it comes on a disposable cup just to show off what the sleeve is actually for. Now do be aware that the cup isn\u2019t made to actually put drinks in! Its\u2019 only used as packaging, so I wouldn\u2019t trust even pouring some water in the cup as it would probably seap right through the bottom.<\/span>\r\n\r\n $\"sokawaiifebruary2020_4\"$ \r\n\r\nNow onto the final item of the box and I have a few issues with this one. All boxes received the Kirby\u2019s Dream Land Terrarium, but I wonder how many had the same experience as me. So there were six designs available and it was a mystery which one you would get. Now mine for some reason came with two sets of mini figures, which meant I didn\u2019t get the rest of the crystal decorations which were supposed to be going around the side of the figures. So mine looks only half finished and is kind of disappointing to look at. Also only Chilly was the only character with a hole in his bum so you could actually fix him down to the base. Kirby and the tiny snowman keep falling over as they have nothing to fix them too. Half tempted to just glue them down. Now these issues have nothing to do with SoKawaii, but with ReMent instead, who are the manufacturers of this bind box series. It is just disappointing to receive a figure that you could not complete. November\u2019s theme was \u201cChildhood Memories\u201d and centered around some iconic franchises that popped up during my own childhood, from Pok\u00e9mon to Kirby and Hamtaro. So let\u2019s get the usual bit of information out of the way shall we.<\/span>\r\n\r\nFor those of you that are just jumping into this article, this is now my 7th consecutive month that I have gotten this box. Even today I tend to keep up to date on the latest Pok\u00e9mon news, although I have fallen far behind on playing the games. Whereas Hamtaro I only knew from reading girls magazines growing up and seeing it plastered on tote bags and notebooks. I didn\u2019t even know it was a Japanese character. In this box, we also have products from Rilakkuma, Sanrio and Sumikko Gurashi, that we get in the form of plushies, stationary and a cute key lock.<\/span>\r\n\r\nThe largest item we receive this month is a macaron shaped plush pillow from Sumikko Gurashi, that you could get in 3 different designs. Sumikko Gurashi is a set of characters created by San - X, the same company behind Rillakkuma. The characters involved in Sumikko Gurashi are an interesting bunch, that include an anxious cat, a polar bear that dislikes the cold, a penguin that has an identity crisis, a leftover pork fillet (Tonkatsu) that has its own consciousness and a dinosaur that pretends to be a lizard. As to what the other two pillow designs were, I\u2019m not sure but it looks like I got Neko the anxious cat. It\u2019s super soft but not all that well padded, great for throwing around for decor but perhaps not the best in terms of comfort.<\/span>\r\n\r\nFrom the same San - X company, we actually get quite a useful Rilakkuma key lock. Perfect for those of you that are still in school and have lockers, it can also be used to lock those diaries you which to keep quiet about and maybe even your gym locker. It\u2019s certainly very cute, but I\u2019m unsure how sturdy a lock like this could be. Either way, it still makes for a very eye catching keychain.<\/span>\r\n\r\n $\"sokawaiinov2\"$ \r\n\r\nSanrio are back again this month, but this time in the form of some stationary. This time we get an eraser in the shape of a lipstick - yes I had to double check that once I got it as I was fully convinced it may have been lip gloss before opening it. This lipstick shaped eraser comes in a few designs that feature some of Sanrios\u2019 famous characters - I for one was very happy to receive Pompompurin. As well as this very useful item to add to my stationery collection, it also comes with it\u2019s own special scent. Mine reminds me of custard or even flan.<\/span>\r\n\r\nThen we have a mascot plush of Hamtaro! The little hamster TV series that was popular back in the early noughties, that followed an adventurous young hamster named Hartaro and his fellow hamster friends the Ham-Hams. This plush is just perfection! The perfect size for a character such as Hamtaro, very well made and is perhaps the first bit of merch I have seen from Hamtaro this side of the World in about 15 years. It\u2019s clear to see that this character is still going strong back in Japan if this new plush is being released. There are also 8 character designs available, so which one will you get in your box? And it looks like I got either Stan or Sandy.<\/span>\r\n\r\n $\"sokawaiinov3\"$ \r\n\r\nYou can never go wrong with including either Kirby or Pok\u00e9mon in your boxes each month. This time we got this adorable and really good quality coin purse with a cute Pikachu on the front. Aimed more at women who have known up with Pok\u00e9mon and are still in love with the franchise. The perfect size to keep in your handbag and even comes with an attached clip so you can clip it on to something in your handbag so you know where it is at all times. I will definitely be using this when I go over to Japan and play in the arcades.<\/span>\r\n\r\nOur last two items are Kirby related, with yet another piece of stationary included in this box with a small notepad. It fits in the palm of your hand and looks incredibly cute when you pair it with last months\u2019 Kirby themed pen. The notepad has colored pages with two different Kirby designs used throughout. It will certainly make note taking even more enjoyable on a daily basis, and is available in two designs.<\/span>\r\n\r\nAnd lastly we have this charming Kirby themed dessert spoon, which is only available exclusively in Japan and now my cutlery drawer! It also seems wrong to use it, for one - it is quite a big spoon! Perfect if you plan on eating a tub of ice cream in just a matter of a few spoonfuls, but it also looks like a piece of art that should only be admired and not touched. I\u2019m torn as to either figure out how to display it or simply give in and go grab a tub of mint choc-chip out of the freezer. This spoon is available in four designs, so which one did you get in your box?<\/span>\r\n\r\nThat was certainly an interesting box and it included some great nostalgic characters like Hamtaro. However seeing as the theme was \u201cChildhood Memories\u201d, I don\u2019t really understand why they included Sumikko Gurashi as they only came out around 2012, whereas Rillakumma first appeared in 2003. It makes me wonder what the general age bracket is of the customers that buy the SoKawaii boxes? I myself am 28 and I would think that this was more aimed at women in their early to mid twenties.
