In order to save his career, a city tabloid journalist, John Garrett (portrayed by Terence Knox) travels to the town with his estranged son Danny (portrayed by Paul Scherrer), to uncover the mystery behind the gruesome murders of all the adults in the town of Gatlin. The locals of Hemingford and tabloid journalist John Garrett himself, are about to experience more than what they bargained for, when the children of Gatlin return secretly to the cornfield, where the character of Micah (portrayed by Ryan Bollman) has not only taken Isaacs place, by becoming the new leader of the cult, but has also been possessed by ‘’He who walks Behind the Rows’’, leading to yet again more gruesome murders being committed by the children, while also trying to recruit Danny in becoming an addition to their cult.

‘’Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice’’ (1992) is a direct horror movie sequel to the 1984 cult classic film ‘Children of the Corn’, which was based on a short story written by Steven King. This film opens with a chilling scene, as the decomposed bodies of the adults that were murdered in the previous film are found. The remaining surviving children, who were part of the cult, that worshipped a demonic entity, they named ‘’He who walks Behind the Rows’’ has now been taken from their hometown of Gatlin to its neighbouring town of Hemingford Nebraska, where the locals have willing adopted them, as they don’t believe that these children would have committed such gruesome murders. The film introduces us to our main protagonists, a city tabloid journalist, John Garrett (Terence Knox) and his estranged son Danny (Paul Scherrer) as they travel to the town of Hemingford, as John Garrett believes he needs to work on a compelling story about what had happened in the town of Gatlin, in order to save his journalism career. John soon becomes smitten by a bed and breakfast owner Angela Casual (Rosalind Allen), who has adopted one of the children named Micah. When returning to the cornfield, Micah (Ryan Bollman) becomes possessed by the demonic entity and has taken over as leader of the cult, which was previously owned by a child named Isaac, who was killed in the original film. Due to Danny having an estranged relationship with his father, as well as the fact that John seems to be more occupied with both Angela and with interviewing those within the town, Danny befriends a local orphaned girl named Lacey (Christie Clark).Bizarre deaths start to happen to some of the locals within the town, while Danny is potentially being drawn in by Micah to become a member of the cult.

The film sets up the dynamic between the main characters of the tabloid journalist John Garrett (Terence Knox) and his son Danny (Paul Scherrer), as the film explores their estranged relationship, as Danny expresses to his father, that he believes it is his father’s fault for the divorce, as Danny recalls that his father cared more for his job than he did for his own family. Danny feels as though his father has abandoned him, as his father is said to have barely remembered his own son’s birthday. The film also gives an insight into Danny’s home life with his mother, as he tells his father that he wasn’t going to his mothers wedding, as he hates he’s soon to be stepfather. This helps the audience to have sympathy for Danny’s character, as we get to know his background, which therefore justifies why he gives backhanded comments to his father throughout the film. Even though the character of John Garrett is unlikeable, in terms of how he had treated his son in particular in the past, by seeming as though he cares more about his work than anything, but the film makes you also have sympathy for him too, due to the scrutiny John faces from his former co workers, which is shown in a scene in the film, where John and his son meets John’s former co workers on the road coming from the town, where they humiliate John for making up stories, by never having any concrete evidence to back them up, making him a laughing stock in his field of work. The character of Micah (Ryan Bollman) is firstly introduced as a very quiet child, who has experienced trauma from the previous events, but as his character soon becomes possessed by the demonic entity in the cornfields, he becomes more outspoken and therefore takes over as leader of the cult. His character is quite unlikeable due to his evil nature, from leading the children to commit murder and him committing murder himself, but without condoning violence and strongly disagreeing with the phrase ‘’violence is the answer’’, I do understand where his anger is coming from and why he thinks the adults in the town are hypocrites, as he expresses to Danny, how Micah’s father told him that if he had an relationship before marriage, it will be deemed as sinful but this was unfair of him to say, as Micah quoted ‘’ I caught my father with the farmhand's wife... sinning most vigorously’’. This made Micah’s character quite persuasive, as by telling his story, he was able to have Danny believe his father is similar to Micah’s father, as Danny recalls his father telling him, not to get into an relationship with Lacey or befriend the other children, which Danny believes also, is hypocritical of his father to tell him who he can’t hang out with in the town, as his father has already become lovers with the local bed and breakfast owner Angela.

"COTC_II_v"

I truly enjoyed this film ‘Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice’, due to the innovative deaths displayed on screen, such as the movie referencing the Wizard of Oz, where a local woman is murdered by the children, as they sabotage the hydraulic jacks supporting her house, while she was underneath it, so this caused the house to crush her with only her legs being shown, which is slightly similar to the death of the Wicked Witch of the East in the Wizard of Oz. Another similarity to another film, I spotted was during the lead up to a death scene, where the demonic entity was not being shown in its true form but instead used thermal imaging, similar to the beginning of the 1987 Scfi – action film Predator, as thermal imaging was used in this film, to show that the demonic entity was following its next potential victims in the cornfields without them knowing. Another death scene I was impressed with was during a scene in a church, where one of the local men gets the bloodiest nosebleed I’ve ever seen, which causes him to bleed out to death, due to Micah stabbing a voodoo doll to make it happen. Reading about the making of this film, I appreciate any of the church scenes more, due to what the filmmakers went through making this film, as director David Price mentioned in the film’s DVD commentary, that when shooting the film, a local Christian group held not only a few small protests during the film , but had left a dead rodent on the director’s doorstep as a warning, so the film’s production team constructed their own church for a few scenes in the film and luckily despite the warning, no actual incidents occurred. The only negative aspect I have about this film, is that I felt the movie couldn’t make up its mind on what they wanted to be the reason behind the children becoming evil, as they didn’t specify if it was the supernatural aspect that the film was portraying all along, such as scenes where they show the true face of the demon and how a voodoo doll was used to cause a man to nosebleed to death, so it was confusing when they brought in a storyline where the corn was seen to be infected, making it hard to pinpoint which one is the cause, as nothing is ruled out.

I highly recommend watching ‘Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice’ (1992), especially if you are a fan of the original 1984 cult classic ‘Children of the Corn’, as the movie picks up straight after the events of the first film and doesn’t discard any plot points from the original film, therefore showing that the filmmakers appreciated what came before. I enjoyed this movie as a horror fan due to the innovative kills and finding out that the actress who played Lacey (Christe Clarke), was the same actress who portrayed Jesse’s 11 year old sister Angela Walsh in one of my favorite horror movies ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street 2:Freddy’s Revenge. ‘Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice’ (1992) is worth the watch, especially due to the film having been successful enough to spawn a further eight more straight to DVD sequels, that also included a 2009 television remake of the original film . The title of this film ‘Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice’ (1992) is hilarious to know that the filmmakers put the word final in its title, as horror fans know by now, that horror movies that have final in its title such as Saw 3D: The Final Chapter in 2010 or even Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter in 1984, we can all suspect there is more movies to come.

Overall: 7 /10
Written By: Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss

Illustrated By: Jay

Published By: Titan Comics

The Great Detective Sherlock Holmes finds himself sitting on a couch in the Royal Palace, with just a mere bed sheet to cover his modesty. With his talents having been acknowledged by members of the Royal family, Sherlock has been tasked to deal with a very important and private matter, before some dreadfully embarrassing photos get leaked to the public. This is where the iconic character of Irene Adler gets introduced, but there is a twist to this story. As Ms Adler is portrayed as a very professional dominatrix, whose clients are all members of High Society - some are even members of the Royal family. Now Holmes must do all he can to persuade Ms Adler to hand over the very sensitive photographs that would ultimately ruin the image of the Royal Family for good.

It has been quite some time since I've reviewed a Sherlock Holmes graphic novel. The last one being 'A Study in Pink' back in 2017 from what I recall. 'A Study in Belgravia' is another graphic novel adaption of the hit TV series Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the lead detective. Having already seen the series, I know what direction this book was already going to take, but nonetheless it was still a very enjoyable read.

"sherlockvol1_sib1"

With Sherlock's reputation now being published in all the newspapers and even Watsons online blog. It's no wonder that his client list has now reached wider circles. Following his encounters with Moriarty, Sherlock needs another opponent that is skilled enough to keep him on his toes. Thus we have Ms Irene Adler, her first meeting with Sherlock is indeed startling to see the least and she is bolder than what I would have imagined prior to watching the show. She indeed has the skill to go toe to toe with the Detective, and can easily unarm any other individual that comes her way. However Ms Adler still manages to get into some serious trouble, as her life is now on the line when intruders decide to attack her home at the same time Sherlock and Watson are visiting.

Ms Adlers character is not only bold, but she has a brilliant mind. Although she is adaptable and appears to be in control of practically any room, her curiosity gets the better of her at times. Especially in regards to Holmes and his cases. The sort of relationship the two begin to share, leaves a black mark on Sherlock when he receives some devastating news during Christmas. For fans however it does leave a spark of hope, that Benedict Cumberbatch's version of Sherlock, may in fact have a love interest down the line. What was once deemed as highly unimaginable in the first season, has just entered the realm of possibility.

"Sherlockvol1_sib2"

Whether you have seen the TV show adaptation or not, but have a good idea of what the infamous story of Sherlock Holmes involves - then I think you would enjoy this graphic novel release. Although this story takes place in what would be Season Two of the show, it would be best to start reading this series from the very beginning, so you can better understand the dynamic between Sherlock and his flatmate - Watson, as well as the very interesting brotherly love relationship between the two Holmes boys.

Once again, it is well worth checking out and is a must have in your collection if you are indeed a Sherlockian.

Overall: 7/10

The bad guys this time are Mind Flayers, powerful enemies, who control the minds of their opponents and enslave beings wherever they go. Things start off on board of the tentacle ship of a Mind Flayer, an unmistakably evil squid face that infected the player's character with his own little tadpole that crawls through your eye until your brain. After creating your own character, you will escape the ship in a collision before heading out to take the tadpole off your skull before you turned into a mindless zombie. It doesn't take long to gather a cast of companions whose goals align with yours, and you'll soon be exploring a large coastal region hoping to find a way to help yourself.

In this initial access version, all of act 1 is playable, with two more to come in the next year or so, which means that there will be a lot of content eventually.

The character creation is very diversified (unfortunately not the appearance and voice options, there are only a very few to choose, although, it is an early access version of the game and they might put a lot more options, for me seeing a bearded female dwarf was already awesome enough for now hahaha and you also can put a male voice in a female character (and vice versa). Take your time to build your character, after doing yours you have to build a “crush” for you hahaha yeah! You read it right! You will have to build a person that you feel attracted too.

Right from the beginning, you can see that the graphics are beautiful and so is the soundtrack but I’ll talk about them later on.

"baldulgate3_1"

During the game, you will face a dice simulation to decide what is going to happen, these “tests” occur from time to time when you make a decision that needs a certain ability like intelligence, dexterity, etc… It works like this, according to the situation the game will give you a target number that will automatically be shown already with the decrease of your bonuses, for example, if you have a +5 intelligence bonus and the target to get the successful “test” is 15, the target number that will appear to you is 10. You have the possibility of loading just before a dice test so you can roll it again… I think the game should add an auto-save on those cases or something to “avoid” that because it takes away the whole meaning of playing an RPG with a dice system, but that’s just my opinion of course. Another thing to drive the story is the choices you make during the dialogues, that’s always fun for me because you get to interpret the character you created, for me, I’m always a grumpy dwarf hahaha.

Oh! Small tips; The tutorial is a bit hidden under the map, so if you need to have a look at it, and your inventory is based on weight so don’t go picking everything you find when you are close to getting “heavy”.

The battles happen in turns and the mouse arrow shows you the percentage of success (keep both eyes on that). A good tip is to use the scenario in your favour, like jumping over small hills to run away from an enemy and still be able to attack it from distance (you can even say “it’s over Anakin! I have the high ground!” if you want to… I’m joking). During battle you can loot the dead bodies… that was new for me.

Something awesome that I saw on the game is that the scenario is very interactive, you can do a few things that makes the game very dynamic like; dip, shove, hide, jump, throw, dash, knock and help. You can move freely when not in battle, during battle you have a yellow stamina bar that allows you to walk a certain amount of steps.

"baldurgate3_2"

Something really important in Baldur’s Gate 3 is the camping, so your party can rest and restore their energy, but if you want to make changes on your party you need to go to the “main camping”, to do that you need to find a purple rune carved on a stone to be teleported to it (you can also use this rune to fast travel around the map which is very big).

What caught my attention was that inside your party it can grow certain… intrigue among them and it can get ugly, your actions also have an impact on what your party thinks of you, depending on their alignment.

The game’s classes so far are;

-Cleric - Life Domain; Light Domain; Trickery Domain

-Fighter - Not a sub-option

-Ranger – With an option of “favourite” enemy and also to choose Natural Explorer (each sub-option gives a different bonus, ex: If you beat a Tammer you will summon a family member, with the urban tracker you have proficiency in disguising and breaking down doors, the other three give resistance to fire, cold and poison (Wasteland Wonder: Fire / Cold / Poison))

-Rogue: No Sub Class

-Warlock: The Fiend or The Great Old One

-Wizard: There is no subclass

The soundtrack is delightful to hear, it goes well with everything that is happening in the game and it only gets better and better. The voice acting is very good! I enjoyed the characters' “energy” that those actors put on them, the narrator’s voice is very relaxing and goes well with the game’s mood. The only thing that usually bothers me is that the main character spends most of the time quiet… like he was mute.

"baldurgate3_3"

The game’s graphics are awesome, there are so many rich details, for example, one of the tiefling’s eyes that are “on fire” or the scenario’s lighting and “movement” is something outstanding on Baldur’s Gate 3. The scenario as I said before is very dynamic, your spells can interact with it, for example, if the path is on fire you can use a water spell to put it out, if the place you are is very dark and you have a character with a good “night vision”, you just have to select him from your party and boom! You will instantaneously see better through the darkness.

I’ll keep my impressions to a minimum because it is an early version of the game, so you will see many bugs that are being solved with time, to be honest none of them bothered me because I kept in mind that this was just the early version. I had the chance to play the game on its maximum graphics and that allowed me to appreciate the work that the developers had made on this game.

On overall it is an old school RPG, there isn’t any “news” on the genre, but Baldur’s Gate 3 does a great job on bringing some new features, and this game has a huge impact on its long-time fans.

I’ll give an 8.0 to Baldur’s Gate 3 because even though is an early version and you have to ignore the bugs and the loading screens take a long to load (and I believe my PC was more than okay to play it). The game is very involving, and the story, characters, soundtrack, graphics are awesome and it is getting constant updates.

My pc has;

In North Wales, two hours before the brutal attack of the couple in the woods, the film introduces us to our main protagonist Pvt. Cooper (portrayed by the British actor Kevin McKidd from Trainspotting, Grey’s Anatomy), who fails to join the special forces as he refuses an order by Capt. Richard Ryan (portrayed by Irish actor Liam Cunningham), to shoot an innocent dog in cold blood. Four weeks later in the Highlands of Scotland, six British soldiers including Pvt. Cooper are set out on a training exercise against a special Air Service unit. The six British soldiers led by Sgt. Harry G. Wells (portrayed by the English actor Sean Pertwee from Event Horizon, Gotham), establish a hilarious tight knit group dynamic through their crude and aggressive dialogue towards each other. These soldiers soon stumble towards a gruesome massacre of a group of special ops, with only one survivor left which is none other than Capt. Richard Ryan (Liam Cunningham). They are soon rescued by a zoologist named Megan (Emma Cleasby), who drives them to an isolated farmhouse located within the woods, where they would retreat until the full moon disappears at dawn, as they were aggressively attacked by a pack of werewolves, who had killed one of their soldiers but had only extremely wounded another, due to Pvt. Cooper helping the wounded soldier by not leaving him behind to die. .

"dogsoldiers_1"

The film’s main protagonist Pvt. Cooper (Kevin McKidd) is a likeable character from the start, due to his refusal of killing a dog in cold blood, which shows that he has a conscience and is someone who would not leave a man behind, which was prevalent when he helped a severely injured fellow soldier, knowing his life could of been endangered, which made his character someone to root for, due to his characteristics that make him a natural born leader with a heart. The character of Capt. Richard Ryan (Liam Cunningham) was an unlikeable character due to his cruel nature, as his character ordered Cooper to shoot an innocent dog and when Cooper refused to, we see Capt. Richard Ryan shoot the dog himself off-screen. Throughout the film Capt. Richard Ryan had no redeemable qualities, making his character potentially traitorous, through giving off a vibe as though he is hiding something for not disclosing his mission to the British soldiers, which might help them defeat the blood lusting werewolves. Overall the cast were brilliant in their roles and gave a performance that was memorable, as they delivered their dialogue perfectly, as the humour appeared natural and wasn’t forced, as they gave a real reaction to the mayhem that was going on around them.

I truly enjoyed this film as it kept me entertained throughout, due to the film’s action packed sequences in the isolated farmhouse, which were especially fun to watch, as we got to see the soldiers use their training to defend themselves. The gory death scenes will hopefully please fans of the body horror genre as well, due to the gruesome portrayal of blood, guts and intestines shown on screen. These action packed sequences and emotional scenes are very effective due to the film’s soundtrack that was composed by Mark Thomas. I also loved the references to other movies in the film, such as the reference to Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead, through naming one of the soldiers Corporal Bruce Campbell (Thomas Lockyer), after the actor who played Ash in the Evil Dead franchise. Another reference I noticed was the character of Sgt. Harry G. Wells which was named after the author with the same initials who wrote the science fiction novel called ‘’The War of the Worlds’’ . Speaking of the character of Sgt. Harry G. Wells, I loved Sean Pertwee performance during a scene, where he had to be punched twice in order to be knocked out while they closed his wounds with Krazy glue, which was used during the Vietnam War to stop blood and close wounds. This scene was extremely hilarious to watch, due to reading that the actor Sean Pertwee not only got punched for real, but had taken on his role quite literally by having a few drinks before the scene, which made his portray of a drunken individual very convincing. I loved that they used practical effects instead of CGI as I’m not a fan of films that have CGI werewolves, as it brings me out of a film when it’s not done effectively. Two negative aspects about the film for me was that we didn’t get to witness a full werewolf transformation scene, as this film had a lower budget, but the filmmakers did their very best through having shown the transformation off-screen, as the film only shows the claws coming out before the full transformation, which I felt was still effective. I also felt that the plot twists in the movie were a bit predictable, but none the less I was still intrigued to find out, how it was all going to end.

"dogsoldiers_2"

I highly recommend watching Dog Soldiers (2002) as I guarantee you will be stuck to your seat from start to finish, from its hilarious dialogue, that is full of British humour and delivered by a great cast, to the intense action and gory deaths portrayed on screen, that will please both action movie lovers due to the film being action packed throughout and for horror movie fans who are there to experience the extremely gruesome kills.

Dog Soldiers has been titled a cult classic British horror movie, due to being directed by Neil Marshall (The Descent, Game of Thrones) and also by having grossed £5 million at the box office when it was released 18 years ago in 2002.

Special Thanks to Vertigo Releasing, who has achieved multiple awards for their innovative campaigns for quality independent films, have now announced that the British horror cult classic film ‘Dog Soldiers’ is now been re- released digitally as a 4K restoration release on the 12th October 2020 with newly commissioned promotional artwork by legendary illustrator Chris Malbon.

Overall: 8 /10

This is all complemented with the voice acting skills of Ron Perlman who helps to bring your character to life. The wild west theme, music, and artifacts further enhance the level of immersion transporting you to this hellish world. Sound effects evoke the wild west. The animations are impressive and the character design is superb. There is a fairly steep learning curve to progress any sort of distance within each chapter. It can be frustrating at the start but as you learn more the game becomes more enjoyable. The cover mechanism, dodging, and shooting are all super responsive and you feel in total control which is required as this game is unforgiving if you make mistakes. It's all about strategy and how you will approach to clear out a section of enemies. The gameplay is varied enough to keep you interested and coming back for more pain. A decent variety of enemies will keep you on your toes and will engage your brain.

"westofdead3"
West of Dead picks the wild west theme in purgatory and excels at bringing it to life. The gameplay mechanics are on point and unforgiving, the difficulty level is quite severe in parts but this adds to the sense of being in purgatory. Have you ever dreamed of going to Japan, but have no idea how to start planning? When would be the best time to go, where do you look for the best deals on flights and accommodation and in what area would you prefer to stay? It’s really a lot to think about, the stress can build up and start to take the excitement away when you are in the middle of trying to plan your dream trip. Well fret no more as thanks to the wonderful Amy Crabtree, a UK fashion designer and founder of ‘Cakes with Faces’, she has documented the past ten years of her travelling experience to Japan both in her YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/cakeswithfaces) and this very book. It’s filled with not only practical advice, but travel ideas and insight into some hidden spots to visit. As well as including space for you to make a trip planner and travel journal.

This may be a very niche book, but will definitely be more than useful for anyone planning on taking a trip of a lifetime over to Japan. The author of this incredibly practical guidebook, has been travelling to Japan for the last decade. As many of you may know, Amy Crabtree is the founder behind ‘Cakes with Faces’. An eye-catching and colorful booth that you have more than likely seen at many conventions over in the UK over the past number of years - mostly at the MCM Comic Con events. She has also been featured countless times in the UKs leading otaku culture publication - Neo Magazine. If you have ever seen her t-shirt designs, you would have guessed right that she gets most of her inspiration from the many kawaii aspects that can only be found in Nippon!

From the front cover alone, it is visually eye catching. With her own iconic 'Cakes with Faces' logo above the title and her unique art style ever present - just look at the cute faces on those sushi! Without having known of the brand before, I would certainly go and pick up this book if I ever came across it. I also enjoy the added detail used on the page edges, as there is a red tint to them that looks great when you have the book closed. It just gives it more character.

"cakeswithfaces1"

So this book mostly focuses on your trip to Tokyo, with very helpful guides on the local customs, types of places to stay, ideal times to visit temples and how best to get around the city. As well as tons of more information, which I am amazed this book wasn't more than the 300 pages. It's so full of colour, helpful links to websites and videos that go into more detail on certain destinations. There's even recommendations for other YouTube channels to check out, which the author found useful when planning her trips. Many of which I already follow, so it was nice to know the author and I have the same common interest.

The bit I found most helpful were the blank pages provided, where as you are reading the guide - you can also start planning your trip. The book is also a handy enough size to keep in your carry on and take with you on your holiday. The tone in which it was written is helpful and cheerful. As though you were talking to a friend. A far cry from the cold and factual feeling I have gotten from many other travel guides I have picked up over the years. This really is a breath of fresh air!

The most incredible thing about this book is that it was entirely crowd funded in under 24 hours over on KickStarter. This was certainly a fan funded project, but was one that would not have been possible without the vast knowledge, experience and sheer devotion to putting pen to paper from the author. I wouldn't mind seeing a follow up to this book in a few years, as Japan is an ever changing country and even the likes of Akihabara have started to change in recent months.

If you enjoyed this small review, then make sure to check out the book in the link below. On the Cakes with Faces website you will also find tons of kawaii merch from t-shirts to dresses, pins, jewellery and cushions. All with the cutest of designs, not only inspired by Japan, but also hamsters and the pyramids.

This books is available to buy exclusively through her website at: https://www.cakeswithfaces.co.uk/product/japan-travel-guide-book/

Overall: 10/10

Developer: Konami Digital Entertainment

Platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One (Reviewed)

Genre: Sports

Publisher: Konami Digital Entertainment

PES has it's 25th anniversary this year. PES has come a long way since its inception back in 1995. It's the iconic brand of the football game that has spanned a two-decade rivalry with FIFA.

This year we have eFootball PES 2021 Season Update which is a reduced-priced version of the game. It does what it says in the title, it's a season update and not an entirely updated version. The new improved overhaul of PES is pencilled in for 2021. This year's version of PES is almost identical to eFootball PES 2020 with updated players, a few additions to the master leagues, and some minor gameplay improvements.

"PES2021_1"

FIFA and PES suffer from an annual release syndrome, where minor changes are applied from the previous edition but the game is priced at full whack. In theory, you could be paying for a full-priced game just for updated teams and rosters. It's been mooted for a long time that an update that has no major changes shouldn't be a full-price game. This year's PES is that, the updated rooster and some minor changes but at a reduced price. The makers are fairly clear about this in the title of the game.

Gameplay changes centre around better close control and more attentive feedback with players. You seem to better ball control which in turn leads to better player control. In the grand scheme of things, this isn't a huge thing but these minor changes do give an extra sense of realism to the game. Game fluidity is improved. This is welcomed and is duly noted. Apart from the updated team rosters and additional managers, it's the same as eFootball PES 2020.

"PES2021_2"

There is one point that should have been addressed is some AI. Issues around AI occur when a ball is deflected and the AI just ceases to exist. This leads to comical moments in the game where players stay stationary as a ball slowly rolls by them. It would have been nice if this bug was addressed as it's the most obvious issue with the gameplay mechanics. The clunky menus from the late 90s persist too.

The PES franchise is the best football game out there and eFootball PES 2021 Season Update brings some minor improvements. The question is whether eFootball PES 2021 Season Update is worth buying if you have eFootball PES 2020 and this is the tough question. I'm a big fan of football games and will get my money's worth. The reduced price would be a huge incentive and will entice owners of eFootball PES 2020.

"PES2021_3"

If you haven't played or don't own eFootball PES 2020, you should buy eFootball PES 2021 Season Update it's unbelievable value. I can understand the reluctance of owners to pay for a seasonal update of a game but we have been doing this for years for the cost of the full price game. I think the game is fairly priced considering what you get for it.

As I said it's the best football game despite the lack of licenses.

Overall: 8/10

Starring: Judah Lewis, Bella Thorne, Robbie Amell, Hana Mae Lee, Andrew B. Two years has passed since Cole (Judah Lewis), survived and defeated a satanic cult lead by his Babysitter Bee. Cole, now a junior high school student, is still haunted by the horrific events of that night, alongside dealing with the fact that everyone thinks he’s crazy, as no evidence was found, to prove that Cole was telling the truth. Cole’s best friend Melanie (Emily Alyn Lind) convinces Cole to attend a party with her at a lake, so Cole can forget his past and have fun. Unlucky for Cole, he must once again outsmart the satanic cult, who unexpectedly returns from the dead.

Netflix’s The Babysitter: Killer Queen is an American horror comedy, that brings back what we all loved from its original movie, as this movie is filled with pop culture references and huge amounts of gore splattered onto our screens, yet again. This film takes the story into new directions with plot twists, which will make whatever doubts you had on this sequel fade, as I can honestly say that it exceeded my expectations.

"babysitter_killer_1"

The character of Cole (Judah Lewis) is still an easy to root for character in this sequel, as he was in the original, as the movie allows you to sympathies for Cole, due to him still being treated as an outcast, which many audiences watching can relate to. Cole’s character will soon have to face his fears, when he comes into close contact with those, who wants to try and kill him all over again. We are introduced to some new characters such as Phoebe (Jenna Ortega), the new girl at school, who is rumored to have killed her parents, which makes her character intriguing to watch, to see how Phoebe’s storyline ties into the overall plot. Along with new characters, we also have the triumphant return of Cole’s enemies, the ridiculously over the top satanic cult members, that includes the characters of Max (Robbie Amell), Allison (Bella Thorne), john (Andrew B. Bachelor) and Sonya (Hana Mae Lee). Each of these original satanic cult members fit back into their roles easily, and has fun with the material they are given. Other original cast members includes Cole’s next door neighbor Melanie (Emily Alyn Lind), who Cole is still smitten with since they kissed in the first movie, and she is the only one who understands him, as she too was a witness to the murders two years ago besides Cole. Surprisingly, we get more screen time of Cole’s parents, especially his father (Ken Marino), who portrays the awkward dad, who wants to be the fun loving father in front of his son, but also gives a performance, where you can clearly see the affection he has towards his son Cole. Nearly every scene Cole’s father is in is hilarious to watch, especially scenes he has with Melanie’s father.

I enjoyed this sequel as a follow up to ‘’The Babysitter’’ (2017), as it delivered for me yet again, due to how all the original characters got back into their roles with ease, by delivering some ridiculous but hilarious dialogue throughout the film, that made me laugh out loud. I loved the new character of Phoebe (Jenna Ortega), as she was a great addition to the cast, from her character’s introduction and to how her storyline ties into the movie. I believe that the actress ‘’Jenna Ortega ‘will be someone to look out for in the future, as this actress has been newly casted in Scream 5, which is to be released in 2022. The soundtrack to this film is awesome. There was a lot of pop culture references, from Terminator 2, which I felt was a nod to the director McG having directed ‘’Terminator Salvation’’(2009).

"babysitter_killer_2"

Babysitter: Killer Queen was truly an enjoyable fun watch, but had some bizarre moments in the film, that felt too stylistic for me, such as a fight scene that resembled an arcade fighting game and even some Scot Pilgrim vibes in there, that wasn’t needed, as it made the movie far less realistic. Another scene I first felt was out of place; was a dance scene, which came out of nowhere, but as I thought about it, I now get what that scene was symbolising within in the film but in the moment, I didn’t get it until looking back. The movie also went into detail of how the characters of Max (Robbie Amell), Allison (Bella Thorne), john (Andrew B. Bachelor) and Sonya (Hana Mae Lee) joined the demonic cult, which was shown very stylistically using camera footage, which added a nice touch to the look of the film. I loved how McG concluded this film, so I would be happy with them ending on this high note, but would welcome a third movie.

‘’The Babysitter: Killer Queen’’ (2020) is out now to stream on Netflix.

Before watching, make sure to watch the original ‘’The Babysitter’’(2017) also streaming on Netflix, as I reassure you, that you will be in for a ridiculously hilarious horror comedy, where both films will keep a smile on your face from beginning to end, with all the fun and gory innovative kills, us horror fans love to see on screen.

We are now 9 months into this incredibly unpredictable year, but thankfully we still have SoKawaii arriving at our doorsteps each month with no hassle. This month’s theme is “Too Kawaii For School”, with perfect timing as schools and colleges have just started to reopen again. The items inside are there to help you as you prepare to go back for another year of education, featuring some products from Sailor Moon, Sanrio and Pokemon!

SoKawaii is a company based in Japan, home of practically everything kawaii (the Japanese word for cute). They create monthly subscription boxes, jam packed with 100% licensed products from brands such as Hello Kitty, Pokémon, Sanrio, Studio Ghibli and more. The items range from plushies to Gachapon, little figures, stationary, lifestyle, kitchenware and more. The staff at SoKawaii handpicks 6 to 8 cute & useful items exclusive to Japan, pack them up in a very decorative box and send it straight to your doorstep. You can also check out their Instagram for even more info and insights into what is currently trending in Japanese arcades and stores. As well as sneak peeks into what they could be including in next month’s box. They also listen to what you would like to be included in future boxes, by asking across their social media. So make sure to have your opinions heard over on their social media posts. https://www.instagram.com/sokawaii/

"sokawaiiseptember2020_1"

The largest item we have this month and is no doubt the one you will spot the second you open your box, is this Cinnamoroll Sakura bag from Sanrio. This large plush handbag is fairly practical as it has a decent size pocket inside which will be able to fit your phone and perhaps a few pens or a small wallet. It will be even more practical for students as a pillow they can get some sleep on whilst waiting around in college after a session the night before. This is sure to be a very sought after bag come RAG or Freshers week. The only downside is that its’ white, which will make it almost impossible to keep clean whilst travelling.

"sokawaiiseptember2020_2"

Our next two items are also from Sanrio, so let’s begin with our guaranteed Kuromi pouch. This is actually the first Kuromi item I have been lucky enough to receive ever since I started my subscription in April 2019. With this pouch you could use it for a number of things, from carrying make-up to toiletries, stationary or even some coins. It’ll no doubt serve some purpose.

Our third item features My Melody, who is Kuromi’s rival within Sanrio. We get a pair of Magnet clips in the shape of My Melody's head which are ideal to use both on the fridge or on a magnet memo board. The other suggestions given on the packaging include using it as a money clip or as a bookmark. They are useful for holding notes on the fridge, especially those that include those all important exam dates and holidays!

"sokawaiiseptember2020_3"

Moving on, we now have our Pokémon item. Which was the already announced Pikachu mug from the Pokémon Girly Collection. This white ceramic mug thankfully arrived in one piece, although short in stature it will still be more than capable of getting that much needed coffee into you each morning. As well as those well deserved hot chocolates as we get closer and closer to the Christmas season. Best to wash this by hand though, as it may be difficult to locate a similar one if it ends up broken.

"sokawaiiseptember2020_4"

We are now onto our final two items, both of which belong in the stationary section. First up we have a Sailor Moon Crystal pen from Dr. Grip. This 0.5mm mechanical pencil is stunning, with two shades of pink on the outside, the inner design showcases both Sailor Moon and Chibi Moon together. Seeing as it’s a mechanical pencil, it should be possible to find refills fairly easily so you can keep using this pen for years to come! It is definitely a must have item for your studies this year!

Following that we have a clear file from Sumikko Gurashi. This item was available in six designs, compared to the other items in this box are all guaranteed in every crate! Now I’m not a massive fan of clear files, but I can see their uses. The design really comes to life as soon as you put a sheet of paper in there. Perfect if you end up getting handouts during class and don't want to have them get all mixed up in your bag. Although a normal poly pocket would do the same job, it certainly wouldn't be as cute as this clear file!

And there we have it folks, that is the end of the September SoKawaii box review. How did ye find it? Pleasant I hope! This month feels like all the focus was mostly on the plush bag and cup. I’m hoping that next month we might get a better variety of items. I honestly don’t think my shelves could take another cup being added. Let me know in the comments below or on our social media, which item was your favorite and if you have subscribed to SoKawaii as well! Would love to hear from you all.

So here is the price breakdown of the box each month and the savings you can get. At the moment, SoKawaii are shipping their boxes via DHL as Japan Post is still not allowing worldwide postage from Japan. So that’s why at the moment, I have 6 months of Nihon Box stuck in a warehouse in Tokyo. Fingers crossed I can actually get them at some point this year! Thankfully this hasn’t been the case for SoKawaii, which is a blessing! Whether you subscribe month to month, or for their 3, 6 or even 12 month package options – there are savings to be had.

1 MONTH – $35.00/€31.77mo

3 MONTHS – $33.50/€30.40mo

Now if you liked everything you saw in this review of September’s box, rest assured that the items are different every month. Each box has 6 to 8 items included and a few of them will be revealed online through SoKawaiis’ social media as the weeks go by. There is a mix of story updates, free-roaming mode, and 4k visuals. This update of Mafia has been built from scratch as opposed to just being a 4K update which Mafia II and Mafia III have been given in their latest incarnation. The updates for Mafia include plots and aspects of gameplay. Mafia is a heavily narrative-driven crime mob story.

Lost Haven, the world you navigate is set in America during the 1930s. Prohibition is in full swing and the mobsters rule their city with an iron fist. The world is detailed and meticulously created, the guns, the cars, the people, the clothes and the language is all of that 1930s era. It looks stunning in 4K, detailed environment, textures, and the lighting is stunning. The game designers have excelled at making the game look fantastic. This is a massive upgrade from the initial Mafia game. The world is huge and immersive. The character textures and detailed facial composition is impressive.

"mafia_de1"

You will play as Tommy Angelo who is a cab driver who ends up being caught up in the mob world. It follows his life in the world of the mob, it is a narrative-driven cinematic story, the gameplay centres around predefined missions where you uncover more about the mob and Tommy's life. This part of Mafia is linear despite being in a massive open world, the mission led stories are intertwined in the overall story. The game emphasizes storytelling and gameplay together. The player becomes invested in the characters as you progress through each mission. I was drawn in by the story, there are twists and turns with lots of intrigues too.

"mafia_de4"

It's easy to think of Mafia as a mob film mixed with GTA style gameplay. There is an emphasis on driving as you are a cab driver but this mixed in with a third-person shooter/adventurer. If you played any GTA game, the mechanics are akin to it, drive a car around, get out, and complete missions. The interesting aspect of the driving aspects is that cars handle like cars without power steering. This mimics the cars of that era. Ancient cars are what you will experience and it's a throwback to 1930s America, this is captured and plays well. The third-person gameplay incorporates a cover system that underpins the gameplay style. Similarly, the guns are of the 1930s with handguns, shotguns, and Tommy guns. The gameplay mechanics are smooth, responsive, and easy to pick up. There isn't much of a learning curve which means you will be thrown into missions instantly.

"mafia_de2"

While, the graphics, textures and the draw distance is on point. I found the load times to be frustrating, I'm not sure if this is due to the level detail of maps and how the game loads them. It is quite noticeable from early on and is the only real gripe I had. I found the load times stifling and breaks your rhythm too. Reloading the last checkpoint, new missions, and the open mode ( "Free ride" mode) of the game are impacted. The story mode of the game may be a little short too, it took me about 4 days of extended play to get through it however there is an open mode available once you complete the first mission which allows you to navigate the world.

"mafia_de3"

In totality, I found myself quickly hooked to the story mode, and the up to date graphics made everything seem more lifelike. The world is immersive and the gameplay is so easy to pick and play. I mean you will be completing your first mission within minutes. Simply game mechanics and less fuss is a huge bonus. The storytelling, cinematics, soundtracks, and voiceovers give this an authentic film feel. You feel a part of the mob world and invested in your character. While the open world allows you to wander and find missions and tasks to do, I loved the story-based missions the most. The addition of the "Free Ride" open mode gives some extra longevity to the game.

The Mafia trilogy which includes Mafia: Definitive Edition, Mafia II: Definitive Edition (4K update) and Mafia III: Definitive Edition (4K update) is €59.99 but the Mafia: Definitive Edition standalone edition is €39.99.

Overall: 8.5/10

Starring: Samara Weaving, Judah Lewis, Bella Thorne, Robbie Amell, Hana Mae Lee, Andrew B. Bachelor

Directed by: McG

Written by: Brian Duffield

Format: A Netflix Original

12 year old Cole (Judah Lewis) has a close bond with his babysitter Bee (Samara Weaving), as Bee seems to be the only one, who really gets Cole’s quirky personality and in the beginning defends him against his neighborhood bullies. Cole secretly has a crush on Bee and is excited to spend the weekend with her, while his parents are gone on a weekend away. It takes an unexpected and extremely blood splattering gory turn, when Cole secretly stays up past his bed time, only to find that his hot, funny and likeable babysitter Bee, is part of a satanic cult who with her 4 friends is now out to ultimately try to catch and kill Cole, due to him witnessing Bee and her friends commit a gruesome murder during a game of spin the bottle. This leads to a hilarious, wild and gruesome ride, where Cole has to try to run and outsmart them in order to survive the night.

Netflix’s The Babysitter is an American horror comedy, which explores the coming of age story; as we witness the close and unique bond both Bee and Cole share, and how that relationship will soon become tainted, when Cole learns that his babysitter Bee is part of a murderous satanic cult. This movie was surprisingly an entertaining watch, while also teaching its audience to recognize that as part of growing up, relationships can fade and that we must remove ourselves when a relationship soon becomes toxic. The character of Cole is quite relatable, therefore easy to root for as our main protagonist, due to representing the importance of accepting our unique selves and not changing who we are to fit in. This is evident within the film as you will soon witness, how Cole’s weird knowledge will come in handy when fighting off five crazy murderous cult worshipers.

"babysitter1"

Other than the characters of Bee and Cole, the movie hilariously has a cast who represent your typical clique horror character tropes, from the character of Max (Robbie Amell), who plays the shirtless alpha male quarterback, so there’s plenty of eye candy to look forward to if you are into that. Speaking of eye candy, when introduced to the extremely vain cheerleader Allison (Bella Thorne), you get a close up shot of Allison and Bee making out during a game of truth or dare. There’s also the character of john (Andrew B. Bachelor), who seems to be the victim of getting splattered with countless amounts of gore that reminds me of the Evil dead franchise and how they used extreme amounts of gore for a comedic effect, which also works perfectly in this film. The least memorable character for me was Sonya (Hana Mae Lee), who portrayed Bee’s gothic friend. Each one of these characters played quite well off each other and gave us horror fans plenty of some surprising and innovative fun kills to watch. The movie also has the character of Melanie (Emily Alyn Lind) ,who portrays Cole’s other neighbor and best friend from school, who he eventually develops a cute relationship with towards the end, which represents the fact that Cole is starting to grow up into a young adult.

I enjoyed the entire cast in this film, especially our main protagonist Cole (Judah Lewis), as he was quite charismatic in his role and portrayed the nerdy 12 year old boy perfectly, while also being able to carry the film along at such a young age. The actress who portrays the babysitter Bee (Samara Weaving), brought not only the sex appeal, but was quite charismatic in her role, as she was able to pull off portraying not only the funny likeable babysitter but also the dangerous murderous cult worshipper. This movie can be ridiculously unrealistic at times, such as Cole’s neighbors not coming out to check what’s going on or ring the police, as there was definitely shouting and screaming happening outside, but that little nitpicky negative aspect about the film doesn’t compare to the overall film representing, a stylistic look and laugh out loud humor with a few pop culture references thrown in, making this film an absolute blast to watch.

"babysitter2"

Due to the film’s success the original cast is reuniting yet again for its anticipated direct sequel movie The Babysitter: Killer Queen, which is now been realised on Netflix.

I highly recommend watching The Babysitter (2017) on Netflix now, before watching its anticipated sequel The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020), as I guarantee you will be in for a gruesome but laugh out loud hilarious and heart warming horror comedy, that paints the most important question I would like to know which is, ‘’ what is your Intergalactic dream team to have to defeat the big bad?’’. To find out what are main characters from Netflix’s The Babysitter (2017) want in their intergalactic dream team, you can find out by streaming it now on Netflix to see if you agree with them.
