Solateria Launching March 12th

From Studio Doodal and SHINSEGAE I&C comes Solateria, the upcoming hand-drawn and parry-focused Metroidvania, launching March 12th

February 11, 2026, Seoul, South Korea – Developer Studio Doodal and publisher SHINSEGAE I&C are proud to announce that Solateria will be launching on March 12th. Focusing heavily on parry-centric combat, Solateria is a title that will satisfy the long-standing hunger of fans waiting for a brand-new Metroidvania experience.  

Solateria has been in development since 2024, and players take on the role of Tott, a small fire warrior who’s journeying to find the Primordial Flame, the world’s last hope against the Shadow Plague. With stunning hand-drawn environments to explore, venture forth and take down foes with intense combat and stylish parries, whilst uncovering the mysteries the world of Solateria has to offer.

Minjeong Kim and Gyuwon Lee – Co-CEOs had this to say: “Our company was formed as a team during our university years. While developing our previous title, LAPIN, we reflected on what kind of art our team could do best. At the time, the art team’s distinctive hand-drawn illustration style naturally became one of the game’s defining features.

“With Solateria, we build upon the hand-drawn style established in LAPIN to portray an even more beautiful and richly varied world. We also put significant effort into the technical aspects. We actively utilized Unity’s URP and Post-Processing technology to enhance the completeness of each biome.

“Furthermore, we adopted a method of separating background details (such as stains and shading) into individual assets and reassembling them. This allowed us to achieve the high-density quality characteristic of hand-drawn art while successfully optimizing game performance.”

As new areas are uncovered and secret zones encourage additional exploration, players will come face-to-face with the core combat mechanic: parrying. Enemies will attack relentlessly, and players will need to have their wits about them to tackle each adversary. With each successful parry comes the powerful counterattack, the ‘Pyron Action.’ This time-slow effect accompanying the Pyron Action will deliver visceral satisfaction and visual delight for the player. It isn’t just enemies that players will encounter along the way, as there will also be allies throughout this tale, some of whom will even pass on helpful advice.  

Ultimately, Studio Doodal hopes players feel a strong sense of achievement after surviving desperate battles against numerous bosses, and that the lore and story embedded throughout the game leave a lingering presence that promotes replayability

Solateria will launch on Steam for $19.99, with a further hopeful Nintendo Switch launch on the horizon. The goal is to keep the game accessible to a wide range of players by offering a fair and approachable price point, while still delivering a high-quality and deeply engaging experience.
