If you are a One Piece Fan, then this is just for you! The Tecknofun One Piece Flame-Flame Devil Light Up stands at around 20 cm (8 inches) tall, and it is basically like having Ace’s Devil Fruit glowing right in your room. It is a perfect collector piece, but also works really well as a functional ‘lamp’ (at least in my own terms). I am so thankful to Tecknofun for sending this out for us to check out!
Tecknofun offers two versions of the devil fruit: the full-sized light-up one (which is what I received) and a smaller hand-strap version that is about 8 cm tall. Flame Fruit gives off a bright orange light. The devil fruit also comes in a Gum Gum Fruit version (also available in both sizes) that gives off a cool purple glow. Both look incredible, but the Flame one really stands out for its fiery vibe!
The design is spot on. The flame patterns wrapping around the sphere look super dynamic and true to the manga and anime version. Every swirl and curve is carefully intricate, which really seems as though it was pulled out of One Piece. The stem of the fruit is also accurately modelled, which adds a nice touch of authenticity.It is priced at £26.53.
The whole piece is made of sturdy, high-quality plastic, and the attention to texture makes it look more like a prop than a toy. It is one of those collectables that actually looks premium in person, not something cheap or flimsy. With the light unlit, it already looks cool as a nice merchandise piece, but once it lights up, it becomes an anime centrepiece.Â
Like the other Tecknofun lights, this one can be powered in two ways: either with 3xAAA batteries or through the included USB-C cable. Both ways offer great convenience.Â
If I were to compare this light to the light-up scene, the brightness was impressive and could definitely light up your room to give it a moody vibe. The entire fruit glows, rather than a section, and the light output, whether you are using batteries or USB-C, was pretty consistent. Once again, there are two lighting modes: Progressive (the light slowly brightens and dims in a cycle) and Fixed (the whole fruit remains lit). I really liked the progressive lighting with this figurine, as it matches the aesthetic.Â
Now, as someone who is not entirely obsessed with One Piece, I ended up being obsessed with this. The Flame-Flame Devil is such an iconic item from the series, and having it light up on my desk feels like it was directly out of the One Piece Universe. It gives off strong lamp-level brightness, so I actually use it as a side table light sometimes (perfect for gamers, honestly). It is bright enough to illuminate a corner of the room, but still soft enough that it’s not blinding.Â
If you are a One Piece fan, you will fall in love with this light, but as said, even if you are not a One Piece fan, this item still looks like an exotic flame-inspired light, which is perfectly suited for a gaming setup or just as a cool display piece. The warm orange light adds such a nice atmosphere to the room.Â
I have no complaints whatsoever with this product. The build quality is solid, the light is bright, it serves its purpose and more, and it stays true to the anime design.Â
The Tecknofun One Piece Flame-Flame Devil Light Up is the perfect blend of collectable and decor. It is great for One Piece fans, but even casual buyers will love how unique it looks. Whether you wish to use it as a night light, add it to your shelf or want to have something that looks epic on your gaming desk, this is a must-have!
