Curt Pires Interview

With the launch of his new series, Stillman from Comixology Originals, releasing on July 22nd, we are delighted to be joined Curt Pires. Curtis is the founder of TECC Content, a writer and a producer. He has written many comics, including Wyrd, Endless, Simulation Theory, Memoria, Lost Falls, Youth Season 1, Youth Season 2, Money, New America, Lost Fantasy, It’s Only Teenage Wasteland and Indigo Children. The Artist for the first issue of Stillman will be Sunando C.

Hi Curt, it’s so great to have you here with us.

Could you please introduce yourself to our readers?

I’m a writer, producer and creative that works in comics and tv / film as a producer and writer–but comics are my first love.

Can you tell us about the origins of Stillman?

I wanted to do something that featured elements of a family drama and a more elevated thriller concept. The idea of combining the hitman genre and sort of a double life family drama immediately was interesting to me. It is like The Sopranos, but instead of a mob thriller–it’s a hitman.

Who is Peter Stillman?

He is an Italian American immigrant, a Family man, and The greatest contract killer in American history.

What made Sunando C the right artist for Stillman?

Sunando just draws issue one. Other issues are drawn by Alex Diotto, Stefan Tosheff, and my Lost Fantasy Collaborator Luca Casalanguida is drawing issues 4 and 5. All talented, consummate professionals.

Stillman is your 8th Comixology Originals series; what is it about Comixology Originals that makes you want to publish your series with them?

They bet big on me early in my career and that means something to me. I like Jeff who runs Comixology as well. He is a straight shooter.
