CHASING THE LIGHT is an inspiring and thought-provoking documentary about a spiritual community on the wild cliffs of West Cork, where the dream of building a Tibetan Buddhist haven is shaken by shocking allegations, forcing its founder Peter Cornish to confront the fragile reality of his life’s work.
Short Synopsis
CHASING THE LIGHT tells the story of charismatic hippie Peter Cornish who founded Dzogchen Beara, a world-leading Tibetan Buddhist centre on the cliffs of West Cork. For five decades, this former clifftop farm has transformed the lives of thousands who receive solace from the Buddhist teachings. But as the devoted community attempts to build Ireland’s first Tibetan Buddhist temple, their revered teacher, Sogyal Rinpoche, is accused of serious misconduct. CHASING THE LIGHT sensitively dissects this spiritual haven’s complicated history in this meditative and beautiful film.
