A Calm Strategic Incremental Mining Game About Rebuilding Your Mountain Hall Between Expeditions
Plan each descent, guide your dwarves through the mountain, gather treasure, and rebuild your royal Mountain Hall one expedition at a time
July 3, 2026 – King in the Mountain, a calm strategic incremental mining game about an exiled king rebuilding his lost kingdom, has been officially announced.
Steam Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4767130/King_in_the_MountainÂ
In King in the Mountain, players take on the role of a fallen ruler whose only path back to power lies beneath a forgotten mountain filled with gold, gems, and ancient artifacts. Between expeditions, players rebuild and expand their Mountain Hall, hire more dwarves, upgrade tools, and prepare for deeper, more efficient descents into the earth.
Each expedition is built around simple but meaningful planning. Players choose where their dwarves should dig, decide how far to push before the torch burns out, and return home with as much treasure as possible. There are no monsters, no combat – just the satisfying rhythm of planning, digging, upgrading, and watching a dwarven operation grow from a desperate expedition into the foundation of a new kingdom.
Key Features
- Rebuild the Mountain Hall – Your Mountain Hall is the heart of your fallen kingdom. Build and arrange rooms, place workshops like smelteries, ore mines, and kitchens, hire more dwarves, and prepare your kingdom for deeper expeditions into the mountain.
- Plan the Mine – Pick where your dwarves should dig and let them work. Every expedition is a balancing of timing, efficient routes, and greed. Go straight for the gold or push deeper before the torch fades.
- Beat the Torch – Each dig lasts only as long as your torch keeps burning. Grab enough treasure, get your dwarves out, and return richer than before.
- Upgrade and Repeat – Hire more dwarves, improve your tools, extend your torchlight, and make every expedition more efficient. Each run brings your fallen kingdom a little closer to life.
- No Fighting. Just Mining – No monsters or combat. Just the satisfying rhythm of planning, digging, upgrading, and watching your dwarven operation grow from a desperate expedition into the foundation of a new kingdom.
Will you reclaim what your family lost beneath the mountain?
