Lost and Found Co. is a game that has dropped you into the most enchanting world, where nothing is too small to matter. The game blends myth and everyday charm, creating a most beautiful storybook, perfect for players who crave cosy escapism. The game is developed by Bit Egg Inc. and published by Bit Egg Inc. & Gamirror Games.

Lost and Found Co. is where you play as Ducky, a duck turned human intern who is working at Goddess Mei’s magical startup, which is a business dedicated to tracking down lost items for the different whimsical citizens of the spectacularly sparkling town. The premise of the game is simple yet very detailed and full of heart, where you help townsfolk recover misplaced objects, uncover secrets, and unravel the little details of the stories that make the world feel more magical and more alive than ever.

At the core of the game, it’s a hidden object adventure with a light puzzle element throughout, a point-and-click mechanic that doesn’t require many controls and makes the game simple and fun, allowing players to relax and enjoy. The goal of the game is to scan and explore, finding hidden objects without the chaos and human-filled environments. The controls are easy and simple, intuitive and feel very responsive, which is ideal for every player.

One of the game’s biggest strengths is its visual identity. The cartoon has a hand-drawn art style that has the manga aesthetics, with its bright colours, expressive characters, and lively backgrounds that truly make the game very visually appealing, with its packed, crafty, and beautiful details. Every scene in the game feels like a rich illustrated storybook. The game is vibrant and makes you want to keep playing, keeping the experience fresh and joyful throughout. The cartoon of this game definitely suits a shop-running vibe, which I think would make for another great game by these developers, as the visuals are beautiful!

There’s no official soundtrack to the game, but each touch on the different objects and animals lets out sounds that please the ear. From the chirps of different animals to the whimsical musical tones which perfectly match the cosy charm of the game. It allows for a relaxing and fun game session.

While the game is a hidden object game, it still has mini-stories and an overall story throughout the game, which gives more meaning to each character and setting. Each object comes with different backstories, along with different interactions from the villagers that reveal their personalities and different quirks. The storytelling has truly elevated the game from becoming a simple puzzle game to something more heartfelt and funny.

We were provided with another code for this game, and Sapphire had the following to say, “The art style for this game is honestly adorable. There is this really cool mix between comic-like character styles during the speech and cutscene sequences, and softer, more cartoony characters when you are in various locations. The attention to detail is insane. For a game with such a simple yet intriguing concept, the amount of animation that is put into it is seriously impressive.

You can tell the developers really took their time with the animations, the comic panel style scenes, and the exaggerated anime expression; it all pushes the aesthetic into top-tier territory. I could honestly go on about the visuals, but I think this is one of those games you just have to play for yourself. It has this cartoony, slightly webtooony vibe with soft aesthetics and such a colourful atmosphere that I loved so much. There was never a moment when I was not admiring either the characters or the environment.

The music also changes depending on the mood of the scene or the area you’re in, which I thought was such a nice touch. The instrumental beats can be uplifting or calming, but either way, they make such lovely background music. Even the small text bubble pop sounds add to the charm. I loved how some characters would randomly laugh, groan, or make little worried noises; it adds much personality and depth. The subtle yet upbeat music paired with the gameplay is so calming and soothing.

Each level gives you a list of items to find, and if something gets tricky to spot, you can click on the item for a clue. Instead of straight-up telling you where it is, it gives you a fun little description like ‘a group of people fighting over the biggest pumpkin.’ It points you toward a general scene rather than the exact location, which honestly makes it way more fun when you are stuck. I thought the difficulty was really well-balanced overall. It is challenging enough to keep you engaged but not frustrating.

I was genuinely surprised by how invested I became in the story. There is an actual narrative following the player as you search for items for different people, making it more meaningful. You can never go wrong with a hidden object game; it’s kind of like Where’s Waldo, but with a list of lost items you need to track down. What really elevates this game, though, is the interaction. You can open freezer doors, turn on lights, switch on vents; there are so many little interactive details. The game really invites you to click around and explore the space, and I loved seeing all the small effects that came with it.

The game plays out in a story mode with different concepts and themes for each chapter, and it was so much fun. On top of that, you unlock extra features that help you gain popularity points to get Mei’s shrine up and running, which brings in more lost and found requests. Lost and Found Co. is a charming, cosy, and surprisingly immersive experience.”

Lost and Found Co. is exactly the cosy, unique experience that I crave, along with many other gamers. Its charm lies in the warmth of its visuals, storytelling, and the way it treats every tiny object so importantly, which feels like a small victory. Whether you’re a longtime hidden object game fan or someone just looking to relax with beautiful characters, this game is IT!

Overall: 10/10
