This series is still gorgeous and now that issue 1 did the heavy lifting setting up the world it no longer needs to be quite as heavy handed as it was initially. It’s still a great read and there might be a prophecy, so I’m still in. 10/10 can’t wait to see what’s next.

I jumped into this series with #6 which ended in tragedy. This issue does a great job addressing it as well as making me care about people I don’t really know that well. It also has a team up and what red blooded geek doesn’t love those? I’m not going to tell you who he teams up with but I will say it is fitting they showed up in issue #7. 10/10 I’m looking forward to this one as well.

This was going to be the last one I read, but it’s really getting into a groove that speaks to me. 10/10 yeah this was the last big surprise of the serials.

The first of two debut comic magazines from Ahoy Comics, I was really looking forward to this one the most. Now this is arguably a spoiler but there are two Batman-esque superheroes who exist on very different Earths. One Earth is a Silver Age/Adam West type hero and the other is a Batman: Year One/Nolan Batman type hero, and they are known as Dragonflyman and The Dragonfly which saves time trying to identify them. So they end up switching Earths and both are given some surprisingly high stakes right from the get go. It also comes with a short comic seemingly starring Golden Age version of their sidekick Stinger, a prose piece by Grant Morrison that’s exceptionally surreal (big surprise there), a one page comic of Too Much Coffee Man, and interviews with the creators of Wrong Earth. There is a lot there and it’s all good. Ahoy has really impressed me 10/10.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Vol. 3

I’ve read Volume 1 and 2 so when I saw this one I had to take it. It’s one story that takes place over a century from 1910 to 2009 and so much research went into this it’s phenomenal. I have to admit that there were elements that were throwing me off at first though. Firstly the League of the first novels is over the top and so much fun; the League we’re introduced to in 1910, other than a couple holdovers and a legacy character, are quite a bit more mundane. The 1910 and the 1969 sections are connected by music and there was a lot of it which kind of made it like loose poems, and while I like poetry it wasn’t catching my mind’s ear. The ending was amazing and a tour de force artwise, it wrapped up the series very well. I give it a 10/10 and I need to get that Nemo tie in stat.
