Skyjack and the Forty Thieves is written, created and drawn by Sergio Calvet Reneno. Detective Lee Baxter is in Zero Precinct, it’s a special unit created to deal with the” The Forty Thieves” as dubbed by the media. The city has a number of heroes including UltraRocket and Mega Liz. As Lee is unhappy with them he creates Skyjack, as he thinks he can do a better job than the heroes.
Skyjack has a red suit with a number of yellow marking including a skull on his chest, yellow eyes, mouth and a lighting bolt on his forehead. The suit has electrical cables that he uses to shock people. Some of the ” The Forty Thieves” include Spur a flying villain in purple and yellow, Little Red Raidin’ Crook a tiny thief in all red and a mugger named Punch. Lee uses his background to his advantage as well as trying to stop the” The Forty Thieves” he tries to catch crooked cops too. As Skyjack he will steal and use any knowledge, money he gets to further his cause. Lee life is very complicated as he tries to not to get caught by the cops as Skyjack but tries to lead a social life too.
The story has a mix of everything as would expect from any costume caper. The story is very lighthearted and fun. The colours are very bright and give the comic a unique look. I like Sergio’s art style from all the character designs to his page layouts. He is really showing his talent here and if that’s not enough is he doing it all himself. The pages are full of so much energy and a real sense of fun. Each of the three comics are full of really fun and entertaining story.
