So…Sam Kieth. He’s drawing vampires. Not is he just drawing vampires but he’s drawing Steve Niles’ vampires! This is Steve Niles’ return to the 30 Days of Night franchise with, in my opinion, the best comic book artist alive.
I’m excited because this is the first time in recent memory that Sam is drawing an ongoing series. I don’t believe he has ever had a “run” on something outside of his creator-owned series. It’s usually an issue here, a graphic novel there, maybe a story arc. I am hoping he’s in this for the long haul. The world needs more bulk works of Sam Kieth.
I’ve not read a whole lot of things by Steve Niles (although his Fantastic Four Adventures issue was a lot of fun). He has worked with other great artists like Berni Wrightson, Ben Templesmith, and Kelly Jones just to name a few. If those artists, and Sam, like to work with this guy, I can’t see him being a lackluster author.
A renowned horror writer, and Sam Kieth tackle vampires in an ONGOING SERIES! How can you not buy this?
