Oni Press to Donate to CORAL for 20th Anniversary

PORTLAND, OR., Aug. 22, 2018—In honor of Oni Press’s 20th Anniversary celebration and the October 17th release of Aquicorn Cove by two-time Eisner Award-winner, Katie O’Neill, we will be making a charitable donation to The Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL).

CORAL is a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco, California, that partners with local reef communities around the world to protect coral reefs. Originally founded in 1994 to galvanize the dive community around conservation, CORAL has grown from a small, grassroots alliance into a world-renowned organization with a history of successfully working with local communities in coral reef regions around the world to protect their coral reefs.

In the story of Aquicorn Cove, Lana and her father return to their seaside hometown to help clear the debris of a storm, the last thing she expects is to discover a colony of Aquicorns—magical seahorse-like residents of the coral reef. As she explores the damaged town and the fabled undersea palace, Lana learns that while she cannot always count on adults to be the guardians she needs, she herself is capable of finding the strength to protect both the ocean, and her own happiness.

“Marine conservation and protecting the coral reef for future generations is so important, it is my sincere wish that children across the world will inherit an environment that is clean and retains the delicate, harmonious balance that sustains so much life throughout the earth,” said Katie O’Neill. “I am so happy that Oni Press are directly contributing to the CORAL charity, that works with and supports people from all walks of life around the globe to conserve our amazing reefs.”
