Football, Tactics & Glory Devs Share Turn-Based Strategy Featurette Ahead of June 1st Release
Lead Designer, Andrey Kostyushko, Delves Into The Inspirations Behind The Football Fusion
Kyiv, Ukraine – May 23rd, 2018 – Developer of Football, Tactics & Glory, Creoteam, has shared a video featurette delving into the inspirations and design philosophy behind its turn-based strategy football game, out June 1st on Steam. The video adds some great context to what is, at first glance, a curious combination of genres. Having spent some time with the game, though, we can confirm there’s method to the unconventional approach. Lead Designer, Andrey Kostyushko, talks us through his love of JRPG Persona 3 and why turn-based strategy is actually a great form for the dramatic dynamism of football. In addition, Kostyushko also explains the different classes and RPG mechanics that underpin the game.
In Football, Tactics & Glory you’re tasked with managing a high-flying team that finds itself in the amateur leagues. Only by shrewd tactical know-how will you bring them back to the upper echelons of club football. You’re given 3 goes per turn (although this can rise with the elegant combo system) to man-manage your players to success, all of whom possess unique abilities that can be tinkered with away from the action. There’s a deep, robust campaign system enabling you to buy and train your players over many seasons as well as an on online mode where you can duke it out with friends to figure out whether you’re more José Mourinho or Pep Guardiola.
Football, Tactics and Glory will leave Early Access on Steam on June 1st and will be available for £15.49 / $19.99 / €19.99.
