Xbox expands to hundreds of millions of devices; Xbox SmartGlass launches this Friday
23rd October 2012 – From exciting TV and movie apps like Netflix for Kids, BBC iPlayer and NOW TV, entertainment on Xbox has continued to grow. And now, we’re taking it even further.
This year, we’re going beyond the console and bringing the Xbox entertainment experience to tablets, PCs and phones. We’re also taking our biggest leap yet by expanding Xbox entertainment from 35 countries to more than 220 across the globe on multiple devices. And we’re launching Xbox SmartGlass on Windows 8 and Windows RT this Friday, October 26th.
Today, Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president, marketing & strategy, Interactive Entertainment Business for Microsoft, shared this vision. We encourage you to check it out and join us on this journey. Included in Yusuf’s blog is an informational infographic that illustrates this transformation; you’re more than welcome to share with your readers, as well as a video providing an overview of Xbox SmartGlass.
Also below is a snapshot at the first wave of partners committed to bringing Xbox SmartGlass experiences to life across devices.
