People often hold Garth Ennis’ massive Punisher run in high regard. I’ve read some of this, and I can’t really argue with them. Ennis did 60 issues of unbridled perverse, crude, violence all wrapped in a thick layer of Frank Castle. People have been clamoring for more since its end, and it looks like this week’s Fury Max #1 is the closest we’ll get to that. Goran Parlov joins Ennis on art. Pavlov is known for his style which is colorful, but has heavy inks. I’m interested to see if he changes it up for this new adult take on Fury. Anyone who knows Garth Ennis know that this has unlimited twisted potential. Ennis famously wrote the Nick Fury story that made George Clooney decline the role upon reading it. I have high hopes that this is the same Garth Ennis has come back to tell another long form story. Expect $3.99 of insane adult spy madness. If someones anus explodes in this first issue, it wouldn’t surprise me. I’m sure Ennis will make the anus explode within a fun context.
